Als Säuren, mit denen die 2-Amino-l- oxynaphthalin-4. 8-disulfonsäure in wässeri gem Medium erhitzt wird, und wobei die sieh in 4-Stellung befindliche Sulfonsäu.re- 0ruppe durch Wasserstoff ersetzt wird, kommen anorganische Säuren, sowie aroma tische und Hydroaromatische Säuren in Be- tra.chf ;
Process for the preparation of 2-amino-1-ogynaplitlialin-8-sulfonic acid. It has been found that 21-amino-l-oxynaplithalin-8-sulfonic acid can be produced when 2-amino-l.-oxynaphthalene-4,8-disulfonic acid is heated with acids in an aqueous medium.
The 2-amino-1-oxynaphthalene-8-sulfonic acid is a colorless powder that is insoluble in water and in dilute mineral acids, while it is in dilute alkalis with. olive green color, which quickly darkens in the air, dissolves. 2-Amino-7-oxynaphthalene-8-sulfonic acid is a valuable intermediate for the production of substances.
As acids with which the 2-amino-l-oxynaphthalene-4. 8-disulphonic acid is heated in an aqueous medium, and the sulphonic acid group located in the 4-position is replaced by hydrogen, inorganic acids as well as aromatic and hydroaromatic acids come into play;
such acids are, for example, hydrochloric acid, sulfuric acid, phosphoric acid, benzene and naphthalene mono-, di- and polysulionic acids, benzenesulphocarboxylic acids and tetrahydronaphthalenesulphonic acids. A particularly smooth conversion can be achieved when using dilute mineral acids, and of these, dilute sulfuric acid is particularly suitable.
Heating the 2-amino-l-oxynaphthalin-4. 8-disulfonic acid in aqueous medium with acids can be open or under pressure. in the presence or absence of organic solvents or suspending agents, such as alcohol.
Example 7: ? 44 parts of naphthalene-1-sulfonic acid (C "oH803S -f- 2 H20) are dissolved in 200 parts of water and treated with a solution of 32 parts of 2 @ -amino-1-oxynaphthalene- 4.8-disulphonic acid in 200 parts of water is heated to boiling for 30 hours, during which the? -Amino-1-oxynaphthalene-8-sulphonic acid formed separates out as a crystalline powder, which is filtered off, washed with water and dried.
Instead of naphthalene-1-sulfonic acid, naphthalene-2-sulfonic acid can also be used.
Example 2: 32. parts of 2-amino-1-oxynaphthalene-4,8-disulfonic acid are dissolved in 380 parts of water; after the addition of 200 parts of concentrated sulfuric acid, the mixture is refluxed for 30 hours. The 2-amino-1-oxynaplithalin-8-sulphonic acid formed by splitting off the sulpho group in the 4-position precipitates in crystalline form. After filtering off, washing with water and drying, the new amino-oxynaphthalene monosulfonic acid is obtained.
One arrives at the same result if, instead of sulfuric acid, other mineral acids are used. such as hydrochloric acid or phosphoric acid and others are used.
Example 3: 16 parts 2: Amino-1-oxynaphthalene-4. 8-disulfonic acid are dissolved in 240 parts of water; 61 parts by volume of 30% strength hydrochloric acid are added and the mixture is refluxed for 30 hours. In the course of the reaction, the 2-amino-1-oxynaphthalene-8-sulfonic acid separates out as a crystallized precipitate in good yield, which is filtered off, washed with water and dried.
Example 4: 32 parts of 2-amino-1-oxynaphthalene-4,8-disulfonic acid are dissolved in 368 parts by volume of a 40% phosphoric acid solution and the whole is refluxed for 30 hours. The 2-amino-1-oxynaphthalene-8-sulfonic acid which separates out on cooling after boiling is obtained by filtering off, washing with water and drying.
Instead of o-phosphoric acid, m-phosphoric acid or phosphorous acid can also be used. Example 5: 16 \ feile 2-amino-1-oxynaphthalene-4,8-disulfonic acid and 162: parts naphthalene-1. 5 disulfonic acid are refluxed ge boiled together with 300 parts of water for 2-1 hours.
Then filtered from -the separated 2 - amino-1-oxynaphthalene- 8-sulfonic acid. 16 parts of 2-amino-1-oxynaphthalene-4,8-disulfonic acid are added to the filtrate, which still contains small amounts of unchanged disulfonic acid,
and 81 parts of naphthalene-1,5-disilfonic acid and boiled for a further 24 hours on the reflux condenser. The 2-amino-1-oxynaphthalene-8-sulfonic acid formed is then isolated by filtration.
Instead of dry naphthalene-1. 5- disulfonic acid can also be used in their aqueous solutions.
Example 6: A mixture of 32 parts of 2-amino-l-oxynaphthalene - 4.8 - disulfonic acid and 250 parts by volume of 40% sulfuric acid is refluxed for 20 hours. The formed 2-amino-1-oxynaphthalene-8-sulfonic acid separates from the resulting solution; it is obtained by filtration.
Another 32 parts of 2-amino-1-oxynaphthalene-4 are added to the filtrate, which still contains somewhat unchanged 2-amino-1-oxynaphthalene-4. 8 -disulfonic acid. 8-disulfonic acid and 10 parts of concentrated sulfuric acid and boil again for 2 (½ hours on the reflux condenser. The 2-amino-l-oxynaphthalene-8-sulfonic acid obtained by filtration is combined with the acid obtainable after the initial boiling and dried.
