Description

Seat for vehicle, such as a coach, etc. The object of the present invention is a seat for a vehicle, such as a coach, etc., characterized in that it has at least two legs; each of these is pivoted, on the one hand, at its upper end, to an axis integral with the seat and, on the other hand, at its base on a part adapted to the floor of the vehicle, so that under the action of a weight, the part of the seat supported by the legs is capable of producing a lateral translation; means are provided allowing, on the one hand, to limit the amplitude of this translation and, on the other hand, to bring the displaced seat back to its initial position when the action of the aforementioned weight is no longer felt .

The accompanying drawing shows, by way of example, one embodiment of the subject of the invention. Fig. 1 is a front elevation view thereof, FIG. 2 is a plan view; Fig. 3 is a sectional view along A-A of FIG. 1, and FIG. .1 is a schematic sectional view of a coach bridge.

The seat shown is more specifically intended to equip a coach provided with a central corridor; it is formed by means of a curved and welded angle iron 1 on which are placed the cushions 2. At this angle iron are, by means of the flanges 3, fixed to pivot on a common axis 10, the upper ends 4 of the four legs 5, the bases 6 of which are articulated on a pivot 7 mounted on a part 8 rigidly adapted to the floor 9 of the vehicle.

The legs located on the same side of the seat are connected in pairs using a bar 11.

The portion of the angle iron 1, to which the tops of the legs located on the side 12 of the seat are fitted, comprises a hook 13 to which is fixed one end of a rigid rod 14, the other end of which is provided with a sphere 15, can slide in an orifice which has a stop plate 16. The latter is welded to the part 8 on which the bases of the legs placed on the side 17 of the seat are pivotally mounted. When the latter moves in the direction of arrow 18, the rod 14 slides in an orifice formed in the plate 16 until the sphere 15 abuts against the walls of this orifice, which stops the lateral movement of the seat.

A hook 19 is also fitted to part 8, which a rod 20 joins together to one of the ends of a spring 21, the other end of which is fitted in the vicinity of the hook 13. This spring tends to return the seat. to its initial position when it is moved in the direction of arrow 18.

The seat shown is intended to increase in a coach, whose walls and expensive plan are seen in section at 22, 'M' and 9-3, the available space for each passenger by using the 'free space for the central corridor.

For this purpose, while the passengers are seated in the coach, the seats occupy position 24 and when all the travelers are seated, position 25; it suffices to pass from the latter to the previous position that the passengers get up, the seats then being actuated automatically, by means of the spring 21, in the direction of arrow 26.

The hooks 27, which can engage in orifices 28, make it possible to temporarily immobilize the seats in the position indicated at 24 when they are occupied.
