Process for the preparation of a mixture of organic antimony complex salts. The subject of the main patent is a process for the preparation of a mixture of organic antimony complex salts; which is characterized by the fact that catechol-3. Sodium p-acetylaminophenylstibinoxide and diethylaminoethanol are allowed to act in such quantities that a neutral end reaction occurs.
The subject of the present patent is a process for the preparation of a mixture of organic antimony complex salts wel Ches is characterized in that p-acetylaminophenylstibinoxide, pyrogallol disulfonic acid sodium and sodium hydroxide are allowed to act on each other in such amounts that a neutral final reaction occurs. The mixture of complex salts formed can be deposited, for example, using a suitable precipitating liquid.
The stibin oxide mentioned can also be formed in the reaction mixture from a corresponding stibinic acid chloride and the base mentioned; H. to be used in statu nascendi.
The new complex salt mixture dissolves in water with a neutral reaction and thus offers the possibility of using a primary organic stibine oxide with its peculiar effects that differ from the pentavalent organic amino compounds for therapeutic purposes. It is characterized by a high therapeutic index.
The product is also important as an intermediate product for the presentation of remedies, where it is a stibine oxide in a water-soluble or. To bring neutral water-soluble form to implementation.
Example A solution of 3.2 g of p-acetylaminophenylstibine chloride in methyl alcohol is added to an aqueous solution of 8 g of pyrogalloldisulphonic acid sodium. It is neutralized with dilute sodium hydroxide solution, filtered and precipitated by stirring in alcohol. After separation and drying in vacuo, a pale colored powder is obtained which easily dissolves in water with a neutral reaction. The acidified solution and hydrogen sulfide give the pale yellow precipitate peculiar to the organic antimony compounds.
Depending on the proportions in which the antimony compound on the one hand and the sulphonic acid salt on the other hand are used, complex salt mixtures are obtained which always contain the same compounds, but in which the antimony content, calculated on the entire preparation, is obtained can fluctuate within certain limits.
The properties that are decisive for the practical use of the product are not changed by the aforementioned nuance of variation in the quantitative composition of the complex salt mixture.
In the above procedure, p-Acetylaminophenylstibi noxyd arises from the applied chlorine by the addition of sodium hydroxide, as it were in statu nascendi and is immediately absorbed by the pyrogallol disulfo acid salt. The process can also be carried out without changing the chemical reaction process in such a way that p-acetylaminophenylstibinoxide is dissolved, for example, in a freshly precipitated state in an aqueous solution of sodium pyrogallol disulphonic acid with the addition of sodium hydroxide, so that a neutral earth reaction occurs.
