Description

Man färbt etwa 20 Minuten weiter.

Process for the preparation of a leather dye. It has been found that disazo dyes of the type
EMI0001.0003
Particularly suitable for dyeing chrome leather or vegetable-tanned leather and preferably provide brown, rich full colorations of excellent fastness. The leather is dyed in the usual way for acidic azo dyes.

The subject of the patent is a process for the preparation of a dye of the stated constitution, according to which one can obtain 1,3-dioxybenzene-4-carboxylic acid, dianotated 4-amino-1-oxy-6-sulfophenyl-2-carboxylic acid and dianotated 4,6-diaitro-2-amino -l-oxybenzene interacts. The dye obtained in this way stains leather in beautiful, neutral brown tones.

Example: 13.8 parts of the disodium salt of 4-amino-1-oxy-6-sulfophenyl-2-carboxylic acid and 3.5 parts of sodium nitrite are dissolved in 400 parts of water and a mixture of 240 parts Ice and 22.5 parts of hydrochloric acid (22 B6) are allowed to flow in. When the dianotation is complete, the solution is added dropwise to a mixture of 7.7 parts of 1,3-dioxybenzene-4-carboxylic acid and 9 parts of caustic soda in 200 parts of water, stirred for a few hours and warmed gently for a while until the coupling is complete.

Then 4 parts of caustic soda are added and the diazo solution obtained in a known manner from 10 parts of 4,6-dinitro-2-amino-1-oxybenzene is slowly run in to dissolve the monoazo dye. The mixture is stirred and heated until the coupling has ended and the dye is separated off by salting out.

The dyeing can be carried out as follows: 60 kg of deacidified chrome leather are allowed to tarnish in a barrel with 30 liters of warm water and slowly mixed with a solution of 350 g of the dye obtained above in 10 liters of hot water. After 10 minutes, 40 cms of 85% formic acid, diluted with 400 cmg of water, are slowly added. You continue to dye for about 20 minutes. Finally, the leather is greased and finished as usual. It is dyed in beautiful, neutral shades of excellent authenticity.

PATENT CLAIM: Process for the production of a disazo dye for dyeing leather, characterized in that 1,3-dioxybenzene-4-carboxylic acid and diazotized 4-amino-1-oxy-6-sulfophenyl-2-cai-bonic acid and diazotized 4,6-diriitro -2-amino-l-oxybenzene can act on each other. The dye thus obtained stains leather in neutral brown shades of very good fastness.
