Circuit for relays in AC circuits. The main patent no. 160885 relates to a circuit for relays in alternating current circuits, in which the grid of a discharge vessel is counteracted by a monitored alternating current variable and a rectified alternating voltage. If such a circuit is used for differential protection devices, according to the main patent, the difference between rectified voltages, which are proportional to the currents to be compared, is inserted into the grid circle of an electron tube.
So the currents to be compared are first directed in the same way and only then their difference is formed.
This method has the disadvantage that the protective device only responds when there is a difference in the absolute size of the two currents; but not when a phase angle occurs. A short circuit in the part of the system to be monitored is most clearly expressed in the phase shift of the currents at the beginning and end. The aim is therefore to make the protective device dependent not only on the difference in the absolute values of these currents, but also on their phase position.
This is achieved according to the invention in that the grid of a discharge vessel is influenced in a sense leading to the onset of the discharge by a voltage which is proportional to the geometric difference of the current vectors at the beginning and end of the part to be monitored, in the opposite direction The tenth sense of a voltage that is proportional to the rectified current at the installation site. The voltage that is fed to the grid of the discharge vessel and is proportional to the geometric difference between the two currents can also be rectified.
In the exemplary embodiment, the part of the installation to be monitored is a transmission line 1, the currents of which are "won" at the beginning and end by the current transformers 2 and 3. The current transformers are bridged by resistors 4 and 5 at which voltages proportional to the currents occur correspondingly translated by voltage converters 6 and 7. The voltage converters 6 and 7 are connected to one another by auxiliary lines in such a way that the difference between their secondary voltages occurs at a voltage divider.
This be consists of two equal resistors 8 and 9, which are each arranged in a station. In each station are in series with the resistors 8 and 9 more resistors 10 and 11, where the rectified voltage of the transducers 6 and 7 occurs. The rectifiers 12 to 17, which are connected upstream of the resistors 8 to 11, are arranged so that the two voltages at the resistors are summed in opposite directions, that is, the difference between the two voltages occurs. This difference lies between the grid 18 and the cathode 19 of the discharge vessels 20 and 21. A bias voltage source 22 and 23, which allows the discharge potential to be set, can also be inserted into the grid circuit.
In the anode circuit there is a release coil 24, 25 or the coil of a display device.
In parallel with the resistors 8 to 11 are capacitors 26 to 29, which are tuned so that the time constant of that circle on which the geometric difference of the currents is proportional voltage, so that of the Impedan zen 8 and 27 respectively. 9 and 28 is larger than that of the other circle. This is done to ensure that the reverse voltage reaches its full value sooner than the release voltage, in order to avoid false releases.
The opposing stands 8 and 9 are expediently chosen to be the same size, so that the geometric difference between the two currents and the two stations. the voltage proportional to this difference occurs in the same magnitude in both stations.
