bestehender Kupferoxydplattengleichrichterexisting copper oxide plate rectifier
Kupferoxydplattengleichrichter, deren Zellen aus abwechselnden Schichten eines Me-Copper oxide plate rectifiers, the cells of which consist of alternating layers of a metal
■ tails und einer festen Metallverbindung bestehen, werden häufig unter Hintereinanderschaltung einer Mehrzahl solcher Zellen zum Gleichrichten von Wechselstrom höherer Spannung verwendet, und es werden, um beide Halbwellen der Wechselstromspannungskurve ausnutzen zu können, vier Gruppen■ tails and a solid metal connection are often connected in series a plurality of such cells for rectifying alternating current higher Voltage is used, and it will be used to generate both half-waves of the AC voltage curve to be able to take advantage of four groups
The rectifier units are usually used stratified into one or more pillars and under proportionate pressed against each other under strong pressure. In the rectifier plates stacked together under pressure, the Operations of the rectifier current heat losses, the thermal expansion of the plates and thus lead to pressure increases. If the rectifier is overloaded, so In this way, local heat accumulations can form, which lead to the breakdown of the individual rectifier plates and ultimately to short-circuit an entire group of rectifiers being able to lead. Are several of the groups of rectifier units connected to one another in a Graetz circuit united in a column, it can happen that all are connected to the direct current consumer Groups and thus this itself can be short-circuited.
Is the direct current consumer a collector battery or another sensitive one? Equipment that must be protected from short circuits must be used with particular care when forming the rectifier columns be proceeded. You can z. B. not all four groups in the manner known per se of the Graetz circuit to form a single rectifier column, as it is in In this case one cannot avoid that when several groups become damaged Short-circuit occurs via the direct current consumer.
Nor would it be expedient to use the rectifier plates in a manner which is also known per se to be distributed over two coaxial columns, between which one with pre-tensioning for the purpose of exerting the contact pressure provided compression spring is arranged. Because in this case, too, could be due to the mechanical dependence of the two pillars on each other in all rectifier units such an increase in pressure occur that with severe overloading of the rectifier a short circuit of both pillars and thus a risk to the direct current consumer could not be avoided.
Verteilt man dagegen gemäß der ErfindungOn the other hand, if distributed according to the invention

ίο Step namely - now in one of the "two pillars If a short circuit occurs within a rectifier group, this can only occur the second rectifier group belonging to the same column, but not to the rectifier groups of the other column. As a result, although the alternating current source, for example the secondary winding of a transformer feeding the rectifier, short-circuited and thereby the direct current consumer temporarily put out of operation. It can't do anything about that it can happen that the short-circuit current flows through the direct current consumer and this damaged, or that the rectifier units are not affected by the short circuit Column of double the operating voltage as before the short circuit are exposed, thereby are overloaded and also break through.
What has been said above will be explained in more detail with reference to the drawing. On a AC network 1 is connected to the primary winding 2 of a short-circuit-proof transformer via a circuit breaker 13. The terminals of the associated secondary winding 5 are on two opposite one another Corner points 4 and 5 one composed of four rectifier groups 6, 7, 8 and 9 Square connected, while the other two corner points 10 and n of the circuit square are connected to a collector battery 12. The four groups are now united in such a way to two rectifier columns that those in point 10 collide Rectifier groups 6 and 7 one and the one that collides in point 11 Rectifier groups 8 and 9 form the other column. The units of each group are arranged in such a way that they feed the current in the groups belonging to each column let through in opposite directions.
If, for example, a short circuit occurs in a rectifier unit of group 6 on, this can under certain circumstances affect all units in group 6 and possibly also propagate group 7 belonging to the same column, so that. finally the secondary winding 3 of the transformer is short-circuited and the Trans- So formator is de-energized. The same thing can happen if there is a unit of group 8 and now gradually all units of groups 8 and 9, the together form a rectifier column, are short-circuited. Against it it can it does not happen that, for example, a short circuit in group 6 relates to group 9 or a short circuit in group 7 extends to group 8, since groups 9 or 8 belong to other rectifier columns than groups 6 or 7. It is therefore impossible that the collector battery 12 is in a short circuit and therefore the risk of destruction by complete Discharge is exposed, as it is e.g. B. would be the case if the two rectifier columns formed by joining the groups 6 and 9 on the one hand and 7 and 8 on the other hand would be. In this case, the groups in each column would be combined with one another in such a way that the connections for the direct current consumer should be at the ends of the rectifier columns instead of at the connection points of the groups that each belong to a pillar. On the other hand, the rectifier groups according to the invention become too Combined rectifier columns, it can never happen that the direct current consumer, in the present case so the collector battery 12 involved in the short circuit is and will be damaged.
