Gasmaske.
Gas mask. The invention has for the purpose of enabling telephonic communication of messages directly from the danger zone of the crew provided with gas masks. The lack of such a possibility made itself very noticeable in the previously known gas mask systems and no mask has become known; which would have effectively remedied this lack of gas tightness of the mask and without endangering the speaker.
The essence of the present invention is that the microphone is brought into direct connection with the mechanical equipment of the gas mask in that it is combined with the exhalation valve. An embodiment of the subject of the invention is discussed in more detail with reference to the accompanying drawings, wherein Fig. 1 is a section through the valve chamber of a gas mask system known in principle in combination with a microphone, while Fig. 2 shows a front view of the valve chamber with the cable connection on a smaller scale . The gas mask consists of the actual mask 1, which opens into the valve chamber 2 at the front.
This is provided with a breathing pipe socket 3, in which the filter insert, not shown in the drawing and filled with the deactivating agent, is accommodated in a known manner. The valve chamber 2 contains the inhalation valve 4, which closes the inhalation pipe stub 3, and also the exhalation valve 5 for regulating the expelled, used air. A microphone 6 is arranged in the space formed between the breathing valve and the front wall of the valve chamber 2.
Both valves can be of the generally known type, so that a more detailed explanation is superfluous. It should only be mentioned here that the rubber membrane 7 of the exhalation valve 5 is stretched over the bottom of the container 8, which is pressed against the sealing ring 9 by means of the screw nut 10, whereby the penetration of gases into the valve chamber or into the mask is prevented.
The microphone 6 is provided with lugs 11 with which it is supported against the inner wall of the container 8 and is held in this way at a certain distance from the valve membrane 7, without the back and forth movement of the air when inhaling and exhaling or when To be a hindrance to conversation.
The microphone rests here with the contact surface 12 against the contact spring 13, which in turn is secured by means of the screw 14 and the insulating sleeve 15 isolated on the inside of the valve chamber.
The wire 16 connects the contact spring 13 to one contact 17 of the socket 18 which is fastened to the outer wall of the valve chamber.
The second contact 19 of the socket is conductively connected directly to the wall of the chamber 2, so that the current feeding the microphone in the circuit from the contact 19 via the valve chamber 2, the screw nut 10, the container 8, the exhalation valve 5 to the approaches 11, which form the second pole of the microphone and further via this to the contact surface 12, which in turn is verbun with the contact spring 13 and the connecting wire 16 to the contact 17 of the socket is out. In this way, the microphone is switched on in the circuit, so that the connection to the telephone can be established by means of the plug 20 and the cable 21.
The mode of action of the mask is as follows: The air sucked in through the pipe socket 3 via the filter insert passes through the inhalation valve 4 into the mask room. When exhaling, the inhalation valve 4 is closed, while the exhalation valve 5 is opened by the membrane 7 lifts from the inner wall of the container 8 and the stale air in this way he allows out of the mask around the microphone 6 through the cutouts 22 to escape freely in the chamber wall.
The fluctuations in the air flow escaping through the exhalation valve 5 during and as a result of the conversation in the manner just described act on the microphone and thus cause the changes in the feed flow required for the transmission of the conversation in a known manner.
It is obvious that the gas mask can be adjusted accordingly, depending on the nature of the gas mask system used, without the essence of the present invention being essentially affected.
