Heating appliance. The present invention relates to a heating apparatus comprising at least one movable support for maintaining the objects to be heated above the heating member, the operation of the latter being controlled by a lever.
This heater may be a gas stove -and the movable support be the circle intended to support pots and other similar utensils. The heater can be a gas burner or a liquid fuel burner. And the lever controlling this heater can have different shapes.
In existing gas cookers, it is necessary to remove or turn over these rings in order to be able to place the iron meture plates on the heating openings, when it is desired to close the stove.
The object of the present invention is to simplify these operations and to make it possible to lock the control lever of the heating organ in the off position, when the apparatus is at rest. . The heating apparatus, object of the invention, is characterized in that it has a control device making it possible to raise and lower said support and simultaneously to prevent the heating member from operating as long as the device is in the position corresponding to the lowering of the support.
The control device may consist of a lever pivoted at one end and the rotation of which causes a relative rotational movement between at least one piece running lante and at least one groove cooperating with one another, one of them. these members being carried by the support and the other by the frame of the apparatus. This relative rotational movement causes said support to be raised or lowered.
In addition, means can be provided between said lever and the lever controlling the heating member, so that this lever can only be put into the on position of the heating member when said lever is in the position. position corresponding to the lifting of the support.
The appended drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of the object of the invention.
The fi-. 1 is a plan view of one of the orifices for: heating a gas stove, the members of which are in the operating position; Fig. 2 is a section along line 11-II of the fic. 1; Fig. 3 is a view similar to fi g. 1, but showing the organs in position of rest, and fig. 4 is a section on line IV IV of FIG. 3.
The gas stove shown comprises, as usual, a plate 9, in which the heating openings 10 are formed; a burner 11, with a valve: controlled by a handle 12, is placed in the center of each opening 10.
The mobile support, in the example shown, is a circle 13 having the usual supports 14 for cooking utensils, this circle and these supports forming a single piece.
This circle has a circular cylindrical part in which four grooves 15 are formed. The latter are inclined relative to the axis of the cylindrical part. four eyebolts 16, integral with the plate 9, each penetrate into one: grooves 15 and thus support the hoop 13. Each groove 15 is open at its lower part to allow easy removal of the hoop, for example for cleaning. A lever 17, pivoted below the burner 11, in the axis thereof, and having at its free end a handle, can oscillate at a certain angle by passing through a slot 18 cut into the wall. side 19 of the furnace.
This lever has a perforation 20: in which passes a rod 21, - which is integral with the circle 13. The lever 17, the rod 21, the eyebolts 16 and the grooves 15 constitute the device controlling the raising and lowering of the circle. 13. The lever 17 carries, near its pivoting end, a rod 22 which can slide in two supports 23. This rod is fixed to one of its ends to the lever, so as to be able to pivot, and comes in contact, by its other: end, with a disc 24 integral with the lever 12.
This disc has a notch 25, which is located opposite the rod 22 when the valve is closed (FIG. 3).
The operation of the furnace represented is as follows: When the lever 17 is operated, the latter drives with it, in its rotation, the rod 21 and, consequently, the .cercle 13. This circle, rotating in the circular cavity which is made for it in the plate 9, moves: on the pegs 16. These are in contact with the upper edges of the grooves 15 and consequently force the circle 13 to rise or to be lowered in the direction of the rotation printed on this circle.
Consequently, by maneuvering the lever 17, the said circle is lowered or raised.
Figs. 1 and 2 show the circle in an elevated position, the lever 17 being at the end of the up stroke, the eyebolts 16 having a hole: each near the open end of the grooves 15. In this position, the rod 22 is entirely outside the periphery of the disc 24, the handle 12 can: therefore be operated without hindrance to control the flow of gas to the burner 11.
By imparting to the lever 17 a rotational movement in the direction of arrow 26, the circle 13 is rotated, which smooth neck on the eyebolts 16 while lowering, until the moment when said eyebolts abut against the closed ends grooves 15. At this time, the: different organs of the furnace occupy the positions shown in FIGS. 3 and 4. The circle 13 is completely dark in the heating orifice 10, the upper part of the supports 14 lying below the plane of the plate 9 of the furnace, so that a cover 27 can be fitted. placed on the heating orifice for the sea iron.
As can be seen in FIG. 4, the circle 13 descends sufficiently low so that the cover 27, once in place, is level with the upper face of the plate 9 of the furnace.
So that the rotational movement of the lever 17 in the direction of the arrow 26 can take place, it is necessary that the net ma 12 is in the. closed position so that the rod 22 can move longitudinally, entering the notch 25. If the lever was not. completely in this position, the free end of the connecting rod 22 would abut, either against the periphery of the disc 24, which would prevent movement of the lever 17, or against the edge of the notch 25, which would bring the lever 12 in the closed position.
It can be seen from the foregoing that the closing of the furnace which has just been described is much simpler than that of furnaces not provided with a device for raising and lowering the circles. In addition, once the covers 27 are in place on each heating port, the top of the furnace is perfectly flat.
Another advantage of the embodiment of the invention is that the maneuver of lowering the circles also causes the locking of the levers controlling the tap sellers. - It is only when the circles are in their raised position that the rollers can be operated; this avoids the risk of crushing or extinction of the flame, giving rise to toxic gases.
In addition, to close the furnace and put on the lids, the taps must be closed, and, once the oven is closed, it is impossible to open the valves; these two points partially eliminate the risk of suffocation by forgetting to close or by inadvertently opening a valve.
The grooves 15, instead of being provided in the circle 1.3, could "be provided in the frame of the furnace, the eyebolts 16 being integral with the circle. In this case, the grooves would have their open ends directed upwards to allow the removal of circles.
The lever 17, instead of driving the circle, could drive any part carried by the frame of the furnace, the grooves or the eyelets forming part of this part. The circle would thus perform no rotational movement and would only rise or ash.
