Die günstige Wirkung der Nitrosulfo- säuren konnte auf Grund der bisherigen Ver- öffentliehungen nicht vorausgesehen werden. Es ist zwar bekannt, dass aromatische Nitro- sulfosäuren beim Schwefelungsprozess, bei höheren Temperaturen, zum Beispiel über <B>150</B> ', in braune Schwefelfarbstoffe über gehen;
Leukindophenole kommen in Betracht:
<I>Beispiel:</I> Zu einer Lösung von 33 Gewichtsteilen Seliwefelnatrium konz.
<B>78278</B> erhal tenen Farbstoff<B>.</B>
Process for the preparation of a blue sulfur dye. It is known from patent specification no. 78278 and additives no. 78897, 78898, 78899, 78900 and <B> 78901 </B> that due to the action of alkali polysulphides Indophenols respectively. Leukindophenols are obtained in the presence of hydroxyl-free <B> p </B> nitroamido compounds of the benzene grind valuable blue to blue-violet sellulfur dyes.
It has now been found that dyes of considerably purer and livelier tones and better solubility are obtained when using indophenols or. Leukindophenols heated with alkali polysulides in the presence of salts of hydroxylated, aromatic nitrosulfonic acids.
The new process is also cheaper and leads to less of the resin formation often observed when using nitro-amino compounds, which makes it possible to obtain the aminosulphonic acids formed from the nitro-sulphonic acids in a simple manner.
The favorable effect of the nitrosulfonic acids could not be foreseen on the basis of the previous publications. It is known that aromatic nitro-sulfonic acids change into brown sulfur dyes during the sulphurisation process at higher temperatures, for example over <B> 150 </B> ';
Furthermore, mixtures of nitrotoluene sulfonic acid with dehydrothiotc> luidine sulfonic acid and 2,4-dinitro-1-chlorobenzene were proposed for the production of a red sulfur dye; Finally, in German patent specification No. 484189, the addition of nitrobenzenesulfonic acid in the production of blue seliulfur dyes from chromium compounds can be recognized as azo dyes.
However, it is not clear from this information what effect this addition has.
About the effect of aromatic nitrosulfonic acids in the sulfurization of indopheneles respectively. There is no evidence at all for leukindophenols.
The following aromatic nitrosulfonic acids can be used: MeUnitrobenzc> isulfonic acid, 1-nitro-4-chlorobenzene-3-sulfonic acid, e, 1-chloro-2-nitrobenzene-4-sulfonic acid, orthonitrotoluene-p <B> - </B> sulfonic acid, <B> 1.5 - </B> Nitronaphthalene sulfonic acid. etc., as indophenols respectively. Leukindophenols come into consideration:
p-Amino-p'-oxydiphenylamie, p-arylamino-p'-oxydiphenylamines, p-dialkylamino-, p'-oxydiphenylamines, indophenols respectively. their leuco bodies, obtained by condensation of nitrosopheneles with diphenylamine, their homologues and substitution products with carbazole,
N-alkylcarbazole, etc. The sulfurization can be carried out by any of the conventional methods.
The present process relates to the preparation of a blue sulphurous dye and consists in heating p-phenylamido-p'-oxy-diphenylamine with alkali polysulphides with the addition of sodium m-nitrobenzenesulfate.
<I> Example: </I> To a solution of 33 parts by weight of seliwefel sodium conc. <B> (60/62%) </B> and <B> 16.2 </B> parts by weight of sulfur in 740 parts by volume of methyl alcohol are added 64 parts by weight of -p- phenylamides # -p'-oxydiphenylamine and <B> 62, 5 parts by weight of sodium m-nitrgbenzelsuliosaures and heats this mixture for 12 hours in a leaded autoclave to an internal temperature of 120 to 125.
The methyl alcohol is then distilled off and the sulfur dye formed is isolated by precipitation with acetic acid or by treatment with a stream of air. The menu ratios, temperature and duration can be changed within wide limits.
The dye is a dark blue, shiny copper powder that can hardly be found in Wa, r,% r, in alcohol only in traces with a blue-violet color, in conc. Sulfuric acid, aniline and especially abundant in pyridine dissolve in the cold with a blue color. In baths containing sulphurous sodium, cotton is dyed in green-gray tones, which quickly turn into a blue when hanging, - which is considerably purer and - more vivid than that from the corresponding with the addition of p-nitroaniline according to the method of Swiss patent specification no B> 78278 </B> obtained dye <B>. </B>
