Procedure for the representation of a derivative of the 3.4. 8 .9-dibenzpores-over .10-quinones. The main patent describes a process for the preparation of a derivative of 3.4.8.9-dibenzpyrene-5.10-quinone in which 1 mol. 3.4.8.9-dibenzpyrene-5.10-quinone in an acidic medium in the presence of catalysts with at least 1 mol. Of a chlorinating agent Is treated by means.
It has now been found that a valuable similar vat dye of the dibenzpyrenquinone series can be obtained if 1 mol. 3.4.8.9-Dibenzpyren-5.10-quinone is treated in acidic solution in the absence of carriers with at least 1 mol of a brominating agent.
The dye obtained, a dibromo-3, 4, 8, 9-dibenzpyrene-5. 10-quinone, dissolves in concentrated sulfuric acid with a violet color, delivers a blue-red vat and dyes cotton in clear golden-yellow tones, which significantly surpass the halogen-free starting material in terms of abundance and washing fastness. Example 1: 3'3.2 parts of pure 3. 4. 8. 9-Dibenzpyren-5.10-quinone are in 300 parts of oleum with 23% SO3 content under Stirring dissolved.
Then 20 parts of bromine are added, the temperature is slowly increased to 65-70 ' C and held until all of the bromine has been absorbed. It is then allowed to cool, optionally diluted with 150 parts of concentrated sulfuric acid, and poured. in water, boil briefly and vacuum.
Example 2: 33.2 parts of 3.4.8.9-I) ibenzpyrene-5.10-quinone are dissolved in 250 parts of oleum with an anhydride content of 18 with stirring and, after the addition of 16 parts of bromine, to 90 to 95 ' C heated. This temperature is maintained until all the bromine has been absorbed, then allowed to cool, diluted with sulfuric acid, poured into water and filtered off with suction.
Example 3: 33.2 parts of pure 3. 4. 8. 9-dibenzpyrene-5. 10-quinone (represented by sublimation of crude dibenzpyrenquinone) are dissolved in 300 parts of sulfuric acid monohydrate and, after addition of 24 parts of bromine, heated to 80 to 90 ° C. for several hours. To end the reaction, the mixture is then heated to 120 to 125 ° C. for a short time, allowed to cool, poured into water and filtered off with suction.
