Process for bright annealing of metal objects under air exclusion. The invention relates to a process for bright annealing of metal objects with exclusion of air, using an annealing hood with liquid up device and a blow-off valve for the air, in which the cooling of the annealing material under the hood. is made.
The previously known devices for performing the annealing process, in which the oxidation of the annealing material is avoided by the natural dilution of air when the material is heated, can only be used for annealing hoods or annealing pots with a circular cross-section. The reason for this is that when the.
Good as a result of the closed air release valve in the hood respectively. the pot creates a high vacuum, which only the walls of a round glow or. Resist from the cold room without compressing the wall, which cannot be as strong as you want, taking into account the thermal conditions.
If this annealing process is to be used for the annealing of larger and thicker sheet metal, annealing hoods with a square or rectangular cross-section must be used, taking into account the space available. However, such annealing hoods are subject to the described disadvantage that they are deformed when the annealing material cools as a result of the existing internal and external pressures.
With the method according to the invention, this disadvantage is avoided in that a neutral gas is introduced into the hood before the annealing material begins to cool, the gas pressure in the hood being regulated so that the walls of the hood are not contracted while avoiding excess pressure Glow hood is avoided.
In the drawing, the execution example for a device for imple mentation of the method is shown a bright annealing furnace with a lifting and lowering, relative to the furnace movable charging carriage. With ä the glowing space heated in any known manner is referred to, which is closed off by the stove plate b in a likewise known manner. The stove top is designed as a carriage which can be moved on a track opposite the furnace for loading and emptying, and which is raised and lowered electrically, hydraulically or in some other way with respect to the glow chamber.
The annealing material c layered on the stove is surrounded by an annealing hood d. which also serves as a cooling hood and is provided in the usual way with a liquid seal e. Through the floor of the loading trolley, the pipe f is led, which leads to the air relief valve g. Furthermore, a tube h is provided which is in communication with the container i, which is suspended from the loading trolley easily exchangeable.
The container i is filled with an easily evaporable liquid and during the glow through the valve m. completed. On the hood d there is still a pipe socket n, the end of which is immersed in the sealing liquid in the channel e.
When the glow is started, the air contained in the hood d is blown off through the tube f and the valve g. After completion of the glow, the valve g is tightly closed and the valve m opened shortly before the start of cooling. The heat present in the annealing hood quickly evaporates the liquid in container i and the hood is filled with the developing gas: To prevent an overpressure of more than 20 mm water column from developing inside the hood can, the dipping into the sealing channel e of the hood end of the tube n is about 20 mm below the level of the sealing liquid in the channel e down.
As an easily vaporizable liquid to generate the necessary neutral gas, ammonia water is expediently used, which contains a high content of nitrogen but little hydrogen. The method according to the invention is readily applicable to annealing with annealing pots.
