Process and device for bright annealing. The invention relates to a new method for bright annealing and the device required to be carried out.
The new process is carried out in such a way that the bright annealing takes place in the air-diluted room with as little air as possible. To make this possible, the annealing pot must be able to be closed airtight by means of a cover, which is best done by using suitable sealing means, for example rubber rings, which allow the closing cover to be sealed against the annealing pot on the top of the furnace. The air must be able to escape during the glowing phase, and a valve is provided for this purpose.
This valve is closed when the incandescent pot is removed from the furnace and allowed to cool down.
The attached drawing shows an example of an embodiment of the device that can be used to carry out the method, namely: FIG. 1 shows the annealing pot in section in the furnace during the annealing process, FIG.
The annealing pot b is first sent in a known manner with the annealing material g and then placed in a suitable annealing furnace a. The annealing pot is provided at its upper end with a U-shaped flange c, which rests on the upper edge of the furnace with its lower surface during annealing. A rubber seal d is inserted between the cover e and the glow pot, by means of which the glow pot is hermetically sealed. The connection between the glow pot and cover can be in any known manner, for example by screws and the like done.
Under certain circumstances, however, the lid's own weight may be sufficient to produce a sufficient seal. But it can also be the work on the lid be fastened and thereby ensure a tight reputation press on the lid. The U-shaped flange c is cooled with water during the annealing process, which guarantees an almost unlimited durability of the rubber seal. h is a valve located in the cover e, i. a tube into which a thermometer can be inserted to determine the tempera tures.
The bright annealing takes place in the following way. After the annealing pot b, as already mentioned, is filled with the annealing lit g, it is closed with the lid e and placed in the furnace cc. The valve 7r located in the lid e is opened so that the air in the pot and any vapors that may be formed can escape into the open, as indicated by the arrow.
During the heating process, the air in the annealing pot is diluted, so that after the annealing process has been completed, there is only so little oxygen inside that it is practically irrelevant. The temperature in the glow pot can be determined by the i. be sensitive thermometers are measured. without atmospheric oxygen entering the pot. When the material to be annealed has reached the desired temperature, valve la is closed and the pot is placed outside in the cold.
This creates a negative pressure inside the pot, which is precisely why it is important that there is an airtight seal between the lid and the pot, which prevents the outside air from penetrating. In this way, a completely bright, oxide-free end product is then achieved without the use of inert gases or other bright incandescent agents.
The claimed method means a significant simplification and improvement over the previous state of the art, since. Both the use of incandescent agents in different gases and those of blank incandescent agents entangle the work and sometimes also worsen the quality of the annealing material. The danger of explosion that is often present in the known Ver drive is absolutely excluded by the new method. Experience has shown that flexible seals, especially rubber seals, must be used if a sufficient seal is actually to be achieved between the pot and the lid.
The use of the rubber seal makes it absolutely necessary. to cool the upper end of the lid so that the seal is not heated beyond the permissible level.
