Zu die sem Zweck. wird der Ofendeckel mit einer glockenartigen, die Wärme glit leitenden Verlängerung versehen, die den Ofen auch in angehobenem Zustand gasdicht Gegen die Aussenluft abschliesst. , Der Verschluss kann stopfbüchsenartig auf dem gasdichten Mantel des Ofenkörpers gleiten, oder er kann ein Flüssiakeitsver- schluss sein, wie beispielsweise in der Zeich- nun";
dargestellt.

Fig. 3 und 4 der Einfachheit halber weggelassen.
Method and device for accelerating the cooling process in electrically heated bright annealing furnaces. For certain annealing processes he wishes to let the annealing material cool off in the furnace itself. If the goods are to leave the annealing process bare, the furnace must always be airtight during the cooling period. stay. In order to keep the heat losses as low as possible during the actual annealing process, the furnace walls must be well insulated.
However, this makes the cooling period disproportionately long, far longer than is necessary for the annealing itself. The production capability of such a furnace is therefore very limited and the profitability is poor due to the high amortization rate. However, if the furnace is designed without special thermal insulation, the economic efficiency is also very low because of the large amount of heating energy required. According to the present invention, despite good insulation and correspondingly low Stromver consumption, rapid cooling of the annealing material is made possible under permanent exclusion of air.
This is achieved by closing the space between the heat-insulating furnace body and the raised heat-insulating furnace dechel by means of a jacket-shaped wall cloth during the cooling-down period without bringing the inside of the furnace into contact with the outside air.
To this end. the furnace lid is provided with a bell-like extension that conducts heat, which closes the furnace gas-tight against the outside air even when it is raised. The closure can slide like a stuffing box on the gas-tight jacket of the furnace body, or it can be a liquid closure, for example as shown in the drawing ";
shown. Fig. 1 shows the furnace in the state of heating, Firn \? during the cooling process.
In both cases, the inside of the furnace is completely gas-tight shut off from the outside air. In the figures, a denotes the heating resistors, b denotes the furnace body with the gas-tight sheet metal jacket, c and d denotes the cover of the furnace, insofar as it consists of lauwerh. The furnace body b is surrounded by a second jacket c which, together with the jacket c, forms an annular container for the sealing liquid f. The sheet metal bell 9 , which is connected to the cover d in a gastight manner and is provided with the float h at its lower end, is immersed in this.
The lid weight is almost balanced by counterweights n. The sealing liquid can be let in at i , drained at k or -in; m is an overflow.
The inert gas is passed through the line o via a pressure regulator p into the furnace interior and flows back through the line via a shut-off valve s and a check valve r. The pressure regulator p prevents sealing liquid from being sucked into the furnace chamber.
The stove's good thermal insulation prevents heat from escaping to the outside and ensures its good profitability in terms of power consumption. The raised bell p of the cover d creates a large, uninsulated cooling surface during the cooling period, whereby the cooling process is very accelerated. Depending on whether the bell g is raised more or less high, the cooling process takes longer or shorter time.
It is completely up to you to regulate the cooling time within wide limits. Because the bell rg of the furnace lid d is lifted by the attached float k from the liquid f of the sealing channel itself, it is impossible for air to enter the inside of the furnace and oxidize the annealing material in any operating state.
The water f can not only enter during the cooling period, but also during the glow period at i and drain through the upper overflow in, whereby the walls of the furnace are constantly cooled. In order to. the cooling is also accelerated- ..
The liquid seal can, as shown, be closed by a second furnace jacket.

According to FIG. 3, the outer furnace jacket is also heat-insulating and is also covered by the cover d, so that it reinforces the heat insulation of the furnace body during operation of the furnace. You can keep the actual furnace wall b weaker and thus accelerate the cooling from during the cooling period. The heat dissipation in this period can in turn be made more effective by using the sealing liquid f as cooling water and allowing it to circulate.
As a further embodiment of the invention, FIG. 1 shows an oven whose wall b is also relatively thin, so that it allows the heat to pass through more easily during the cooling period. \\ At the end of the heating season, the cover d primarily provides thermal insulation.
Here, namely, the bell-shaped part also consists of heat protection compound at a height that is approximately equal to the height of the furnace, and only its extension downwards is made of sheet metal with good thermal conductivity. The bell extension of the furnace cover d is then approximately equal to twice the furnace height and consists of an upper heat protection part t and a lower heat-permeable part g.
The accessories remain the same as in Fig. 1 and 2, but are from the. 3 and 4 are omitted for the sake of simplicity.
There are of course many modifications of the arrangements shown possible, of which only one should be mentioned that the furnace lid can be raised and lowered by means of a crane instead of a float.
