Description
Verfahren zur Darstellung eines Kondensationsproduktes der Benzanthronreihe. Es wurde gefunden, .dass man ein wert volles Kondensationsprodukt der Benzan- thronreihe erhält, wenn man Bzl-Benz- anthronthioglykolsäure mit einem alkalischen Kondensationsmittel behandelt.
Das neue Kondensationsprodukt stellt ein bräunliches Pulver -dar, das sich in Natron lauge mit brauner bis roter Farbe und star ker gelbgrüner Fluoreszenz löst. Es ist ein wertvolles Zwischenprodukt zur Herstellung von Küpenfarbstoffen.
<I>Beispiel:</I> 150 Teile Kaliumhydroxyd werden zu sammen mit 50 Teilen Wasser .auf 170 er wärmt, worauf man in die Schmelze .bei gleicher Temperatur 30 Teile Bzl-Benzan- thronthioglykolsäure (Fp. 220 ) einträgt.
Man steigert sodann die Temperatur unter Rühren auf 195 und hält dias Gemisch eine halbe Stunde lang bei 195-200'. Darnach lässt man die Schmelze erkalten, verdünnt sie mit 3000 Teilen Wasser von 40 , filtriert, nach kurzem Durchleiten von Luft zur Ent fernung von geringen Mengen von Leuko- verbin:dungen von Küpenfarbstoffen, vom Unlöslichen ab und setzt verdünnte Salz säure solange zu, bis sich nichts mehr ab scheidet.
An .Stelle von Kaliumhydrogyd kann man auch zum Beispiel in molekulares Ge menge von Kaliumhydroxyd und Natrium hydroxyd -bei An- .oder Abwesenheit von Wasser verwenden.
Process for the preparation of a condensation product of the benzanthrone series. It has been found that a valuable condensation product of the benzanthrone series is obtained if Bzl-benzanthrone thioglycolic acid is treated with an alkaline condensation agent.
The new condensation product is a brownish powder that dissolves in caustic soda with a brown to red color and strong yellow-green fluorescence. It is a valuable intermediate in the manufacture of vat dyes.
<I> Example: </I> 150 parts of potassium hydroxide are heated together with 50 parts of water to 170, whereupon 30 parts of Bzl-benzanothrothioglycolic acid (melting point 220) are introduced into the melt at the same temperature.
The temperature is then increased to 195 with stirring and the mixture is kept at 195-200 'for half an hour. The melt is then allowed to cool, diluted with 3000 parts of 40 water, filtered, after briefly passing air through to remove small amounts of leuco compounds from vat dyes, insoluble and dilute hydrochloric acid is added until nothing more separates.
Instead of potassium hydrogen, one can also use, for example, a molecular amount of potassium and sodium hydroxide in the presence or absence of water.
