Description

Exhaust pipe for multi-cylinder internal combustion engines with exhaust gas turbines. The invention relates to exhaust lines of multi-cylinder internal combustion engines with exhaust gas turbines. According to the invention, the exhaust gases from the individual cylinders are conducted into the exhaust gas turbine by means of an exhaust manifold and, before they enter the duct of the manifold, run parallel to a certain extent so that the kinetic energy contained in the exhaust gases is retained upon entry into the manifold remains.

On the accompanying drawing, three embodiments of the subject invention are shown. In Figs. 1 and la be 1 draws the internal combustion engine with the cylinders 2, 3, 4 and 5. 6 is the exhaust turbine, 7 is the exhaust manifold leading to the exhaust gas turbine with the connections 8, 9, 10 and 11 for the exhaust pipes of the individual Cylinders 2, 3, 4, 5. These connections are now continued in the manifold through flat partition walls i4 and open with a semicircular mouth 12 into the duct of the manifold.

As a result, the exhaust gases are guided a little way parallel to this channel before they enter the channel of the manifold 7, so that their kinetic energy is retained when they enter the manifold. The exhaust gases leave, the turbine through, line 1! 3.

According to Figure 2 and 2a, the connections 8, 9, 10 and 11 open with pipe sections 15 in the channel of the manifold 7, which are arranged concentrically in this channel.

According to Fig. 3 and 3a, the connections 8, 9, 10 and 11 are continued in the manifold by semicircular partitions 16. Die Teilwälzens 16 sind in Fig. 3 und 3a.
