Description

  

  <B>Zusatzpatent</B>     zum    Hauptpatent Nr. 129589.    Verfahren zur Herstellung eines Derivates eines     Küpenfarbstoffes.       Es wurde gefunden, dass man ein Derivat  eines     Küpenfarbstoffes    erhält, wenn man die       Leukoverbindung    des     5,5'-Diehlor-7,7'-diine-          thylthioindigos    mit einer     Monohalogenessig-          säure    behandelt.  



  Die neue Verbindung bildet ein rotbraunes  Pulver; sie ist in Alkohol sehr schwer löslich,  in Äther, Benzol, Chloroform, Wasser und  verdünnten Säuren unlöslich, dagegen sehr  leicht löslich in kalter, verdünnter Lauge mit  rotbrauner Farbe. Durch Erwärmen in saurem  oder alkalischem Medium. in Gegenwart von  Oxydationsmitteln, wie Eisenchlorid oder       Ferrioyankalium,    lässt sich das Produkt zum       5,5'-Dichlor-7,7'-dimethylthioindigo    zurück  verwandeln.

           Beispiel     Zu einer Lösung von 300 Teilen     Leuko-          5,5'-Dichlor-7,7'-        dimethyltbioindigo    in 400  Teilen     Natriumhydroxyd    und 3000 Teilen  Wasser werden 220 Teile Chloressigsäure,    gelöst in 1100 Teilen Wasser unter Zusatz  von 140 Teilen Soda, zugegeben und das  Gemisch während einer Stunde auf 75-80   erwärmt.

   Hierauf wird von- =wenig unver  ändertem     Leuko-5,5'-Dichlor-7,7'-dimethyl-          tbioindigo        abfiltriert    und das Filtrat mit 800  Teilen konzentrierter Salzsäure angesäuert,  wobei das Kondensationsprodukt in Form  eines rotbraunen Pulvers sich ;abscheidet,  welches filtriert, mit Wasser 'ausgewaschen,  getrocknet und gemahlen wird.

  The new compound forms a red-brown powder; it is very sparingly soluble in alcohol, insoluble in ether, benzene, chloroform, water and dilute acids, but very easily soluble in cold, dilute lye with a reddish-brown color. By heating in an acidic or alkaline medium. in the presence of oxidizing agents such as ferric chloride or potassium ferric oxide, the product can be converted back to 5,5'-dichloro-7,7'-dimethylthioindigo.

           EXAMPLE To a solution of 300 parts of leuco-5,5'-dichloro-7,7'-dimethyltbioindigo in 400 parts of sodium hydroxide and 3000 parts of water, 220 parts of chloroacetic acid, dissolved in 1100 parts of water with the addition of 140 parts of soda, are added and that Mixture heated to 75-80 for one hour.

   Thereupon, leuco-5,5'-dichloro-7,7'-dimethyl-tbioindigo is filtered off and the filtrate is acidified with 800 parts of concentrated hydrochloric acid, the condensation product separating out in the form of a red-brown powder, which is filtered is washed 'with water', dried and ground.

PATENTANSPRUCH: Verfahren zur Herstellung eines Derivates eines KüpenfarbstofEes, dadurch gekennzeich net, dass man den Leuko-5,5'-Dichlor-7,7'- dimethylthioindigo mit einer Monohalogen essigsäure behandelt. Die neue Verbindung bildet ein rotbraunes Pulver; sie ist in Alkohol sehr schwer löslich, in Äther, Benzol, Chloroform, Wasser und verdünnten Säuren unlöslich, dagegen sehr leicht löslich in kalter, verdünnter Lauge mit rotbrauner Farbe. Durch Erwärmen in saurem oder alkalischem Medium, in Gegenwart von Oxydationsmitteln, lässt sich das Produkt zum 5,5'-Dichlor-7,7'-dimethylthioindigo zu rückverwandeln.
