Description

  

  Verfahren zur Herstellung eines Derivates eines     Küpenfarbstoffes.       Es wurde gefunden, dass man ein Derivat  eines     Küpenfarbstoffes    erhält, wenn man die       Leukoverbindung    des     Thioindigos    mit einer       1Zonohalogenessigsäure    behandelt.  



  Die neue Verbindung bildet ein rotbraunes  Pulver; sie ist in Alkohol sehr schwer lös  lich, in Äther, Benzol, Chloroform, Wasser  und     verdünnten    Säuren unlöslich, dagegen  sehr leicht löslich in kalter, verdünnter  Lauge mit starker blauer Fluoreszenz. Durch  Erwärmen in saurem oder alkalischem Me  dium, in Gegenwart von Oxydationsmitteln,  wie Eisenchlorid oder     Ferricyankalium,    lässt  sich das Produkt zum     Thioindigo    zurück  verwandeln.

      <I>Beispiel:</I>    Zu einer Lösung von 350 Teilen     Leuko-          thioindigo    in 150 Teilen     Natriumhydroxyd     und 350 Teilen Wasser     werden    830 Teile  Chloressigsäure, gelöst in 1500 Teilen Was  ser, unter Zusatz von 200 Teilen Soda, zu  gegeben und das Gemisch während einer  Stunde auf 75 bis 80   erwärmt. Hierauf  wird von wenig unverändertem Leukothio-    Indigo     abfiltriert    und das Filtrat mit 200  Teilen konzentrierter Salzsäure angesäuert,  wobei das Kondensationsprodukt in Form  eines orangegelben Pulvers sich abscheidet,  welches     abfiltriert,    mit Wasser ausgewa  schen, getrocknet und gemahlen wird.

  The new compound forms a red-brown powder; it is very sparingly soluble in alcohol, insoluble in ether, benzene, chloroform, water and dilute acids, but very easily soluble in cold, dilute lye with strong blue fluorescence. The product can be converted back to thioindigo by heating in an acidic or alkaline medium in the presence of oxidizing agents such as iron chloride or potassium ferricyanide.

      <I> Example: </I> To a solution of 350 parts of leukothioindigo in 150 parts of sodium hydroxide and 350 parts of water, 830 parts of chloroacetic acid, dissolved in 1500 parts of water, with the addition of 200 parts of soda, are added and the mixture heated to 75 to 80 for one hour. Thereupon little unchanged leukothio indigo is filtered off and the filtrate is acidified with 200 parts of concentrated hydrochloric acid, the condensation product separating out in the form of an orange-yellow powder, which is filtered off, washed out with water, dried and ground.

PATENTANSPRUCH: Verfahren zur Herstellung- eines Deri vates eines Küpenfarbstoffes, dadurch ge kennzeichnet, dass man den Leukothioindigo mit einer Monohalogenessigsäure behandelt. Die neue Verbindung bildet ein rotbraunes Pulver; sie ist in Alkohol sehr schwer lös lich, in Äther, Benzol, Chloroform, Wasser und verdünnten Säuren unlöslich, dagegen sehr leicht löslich in kalter, verdünnter Lauge mit starker blauer Fluoreszenz. Durch Erwärmen in saurem oder alkalischem Me dium, in Gegenwart von Oxydationsmitteln, lässt sich das Produkt zum Thioindigo zu- rückvem-andeln.
