Lorsque la ma nette E arrive en position a, position qui permet au gaz de s'échapper, les deux élec trodes 4 et 5 viennent en contact, les deux manchons 17 ayant été poussés en arrière, à l'encontre du ressort 18, ce qui ferme le circuit; si l'on tourne encore légèrement la manette E, le cliquet 1 se dégage de- la tige 22 et les deux bras 6 et 7 sont séparés brusquement par la tension du ressort 19, ce qui rompt le circuit;
Automatic ignition system for gas stoves. The object of the present invention relates to an automatic ignition installation for gas stoves. This installation is characterized by a device making it possible to produce sparks near a gas burner, by a ratchet actuated by the gas inlet valve and by a device for transmitting movement between said valve and the device producing gas. 'sparks, all so that when the valve is opened, the motion transmission device activates the spark-producing device.
The appended drawing represents, by way of example, two embodiments of the object of the invention.
Fig. 1 is an elevational view of the first embodiment and FIG. 2, a plan of it; fig. 3 is a section through III-III of FIG. 2; Fig. 4 is an elevational view of the second. form of execution; fig. 5 is a plan view thereof. As regards the embodiment of FIGS. 1 to 3, 9. shows the burner and B the gas supply pipe.
This pipe is formed by a bushel C, in which is placed the key of the tap D, provided with its net E. On the key D is the pawl 1 pivoted in 2, and which is maintained in the position shown in fig. 2 by a spring 3. Two electrodes 4 and 5 are mounted on the electrode holders 6 and 7, made of insulating material, arranged so as to be able to rotate about the axes 8 and 9, and which are provided with teeth 10 and 11, meshing with each other. The electrode 4 is mounted on the arm 6 so that its end is pressed against a conductive pad 12 connected to a conductor 13, which is itself fixed to a sliding part 14.
A spring 15 maintains this sliding part 14 in contact with the axis 8, itself electrically connected to one of the poles of the source of electricity by means of a conductor 16. The current used is relatively high. voltage (125 to 220 volts for example). the insulating sleeve 17 can slide along the arm 6 and a spring 18 normally maintains the sleeve 17 in the position shown in FIG. 2, in which the electrode 4 is completely surrounded. The electrode 5 and its arm 7 are constructed in a manner analogous to the electrode 3 and to the arm 6, the axis 9 being connected to the other pole of the source of electricity. A spring 19 maintains the two arms in the position shown in FIG. 2.
The two pins 8 and 9 are fixed on a frame 20 mounted on the gas inlet pipe B by means of the screw 21, and in which a rod 22 can slide to transmit the movement of the pawl 1; for this purpose, one of the ends of this rod is in contact with the pawl, while the other end enters the notch 23 of the pin 9.
Fig. 2 shows, in solid lines, the net gas inlet valve in its closed position, and the entire device in the rest position. When the tap is opened by turning the knob E in the direction of the arrow f ', the pawl 1 actuates the rod 22. This rod in turn actuates the arm 7 and consequently also the arm 6.
When the net E arrives in position a, a position which allows the gas to escape, the two electrodes 4 and 5 come into contact, the two sleeves 17 having been pushed back, against the spring 18, this who closes the circuit; if the lever E is turned slightly further, the pawl 1 is released from the rod 22 and the two arms 6 and 7 are suddenly separated by the tension of the spring 19, which breaks the circuit;
a spark is then produced between the two electrodes 4 and 5, which spark ignites the gas escaping from the burner A. The rod 22, pushed back in its rest position, maintains the pawl against the spring 3 in its position shown in dotted lines, and the lever F can be operated in both directions to increase or decrease the intensity of the flame or even be brought into its position b, corresponding to the pilot flame.
In the second embodiment, according to FIGS. 4 and 5, the rotary arm 24 carries the rotary wheel 25 which can rotate freely. A ferro - cerium 26 stone is applied against the wheel by means of a spring 27.
The arm 24 is held in the position shown in FIG. 5 by means of a spring 28, and has a flat surface 29 against which the rod 30 abuts. A sector 31 is mounted on the frame at 32 and is subjected to the action of a spring 33; it also has a nose 34 (covered with hatching in fig. 5).
When the handle E is operated to open the gas supply pipe B, the rod 30, actuated by the pawl 1, moves the arm 24 towards the burner A. The wheel 25 moves with said arm and turns the sector 31 around its pivot 32, against the spring 33; thanks to the erasure of the sector 31, the wheel 25 does not turn on itself. When the pawl 1 abandons the rod 30, the arm 24 is suddenly brought back to its initial position by the tension of the spring 28 and the wheel 25, meshing with the sector 31, begins to rotate; in fact, the sector 31 cannot be erased this time, because it cannot turn in the opposite direction to that of its previous movement, since its nose 34 comes to rest against the stop 35 of the frame 20.
The rapid rotation of the thumbwheel 25 rubs so much against the ferro-cerium stone 26 produces the sparks.
