Le dispositif représenté comprend les par ties suivantes: un bouton @de, contact disposé à la pointe de l'arme 2 .(épi ou fleuret), un coffret $ .destiné à être porté par d'un des combattants et contenant un, relais 4 et une batterie 5, un appareil de signalisation 6 constitué par une ;
Electrical touch control device for fencing assaults. There are already devices for the electrical control of hits during fencing assaults. However, these various devices have the drawback of being complicated. and to require bulky or inconvenient means, such as reels and wires interconnecting the combatants. The interconnection thus achieved between the two combatants allows, it is true,
to detect the "double blow" and even to insert a period of time adjustable at will between the touchdowns of the two opponents and thus to lengthen the time during which the double blow is possible. However, these known devices have the drawback of being relatively expensive and of precarious operation.
The object of the present invention is to avoid these drawbacks and to provide a very simple and inexpensive, although less complete, solution to the problem of the electrical control of hits for fencing assaults. Its object is such an electrical control device,
which is characterized in that it comprises a contact button placed at the tip of the weapon and now normally inactive, a signal as long as this tip does not come up against an obstacle,
this contact button being arranged so as to keep this signal inactive also when the point of the weapon strikes against a part which is a good conductor of electricity and so as to allow the entry into activity of this signal during a hit against a non-conductive part, the whole of the positive device being carried by the person holding the weapon.
The figure of the appended drawing shows schematically, by way of example, an embodiment of the device which is the subject of the invention.
The device shown comprises the following parts: a button @de, contact placed at the tip of the weapon 2. (Ear or foil), a box $. Intended to be worn by one of the combatants and containing a relay 4 and a battery 5, a signaling device 6 consisting of a;
electric lamp placed in a clearly visible place on this fighter, a conductive wire 7 connecting the ground of the weapon to the box and another conductive wire 8 connecting, as will be indicated, part of the contact button also to the box .
The contact button comprises a conductive part 9 fixed to the end of the weapon 2 and which is crossed by a sliding rod 10 surrounded by an insulating sleeve 11 and on which in turn slides a steel sleeve 14. This the last sleeve and the rod 10 are isolated from each other by the sleeve 11. The steel sleeve 14 slides in the part 9, forming a mass with it. It is urged outwardly by a spring 14 '.
The rear part of the part 10 is provided with a head 12 on which acts a res sort 13 bearing on the weapon by the intermediary of an insulator 13 'and urging this head 12 to come to rest on its seat 12 '.
The head 12 and its seat 12 'form a contact which is kept closed by the spring 13, as long as the free end of the part 10 is not pushed against the action of the spring. When the point of the weapon hits any obstacle. the part 14 sinks first of all, until this obstacle meets the part 10 which sinks and the contact between the part 12 and the seat 12 'breaks.
On the head 12 of the part 10 is fixed one end of the conductor 8. This conductor is surrounded by an insulating sheath and runs along the blade of the weapon 2. The contact formed by the head 12 and the seat 12 ' is arranged in a circuit comprising the following elements placed in series:
the conductor 8, the relay 4, a contact 17 kept closed as long as the electro of the relay is energized, a push button 15 placed as a bypass on this contact 17, the battery 5 which can be constituted for example by a dry battery of flashlight, a switch 16, the role of which will be indicated below, and the driver 7.
Relay 4 controls a work contact 17 and a break contact 18. When the break contact is closed, that is to say when the relay is not energized, the following circuit is closed if the switch 16 is itself: battery 5, conductor 19, rest contact 18, conductor 20, lamp 6, conductor 7, switch 16, battery 5.
When, on the contrary, relay 4 is energized, contact 17 is closed and relay 4 remains energized as long as the contact between head 12 and seat 12 'is not broken, it being understood that switch 16 is on. closed. The operation of the device shown is as follows: the members being in the position shown, one of the combatants fixes the box 3 and the lamp 6 on him.
He closes switch 16, which will remain in this position for the duration of the fight. He presses the push button 15 for a moment, which closes the circuit of the relay 4 via the contact between the head 12 and the seat 12 ', which is then closed. Relay 4 energizing, contact 17 closes and relay 4 excitation is maintained after button 15 has reopened.
The contact 18 having opened, the lamp 6 is extinguished.
When the point of the sword strikes any obstacle, the contact between the head 12 and the seat 12 'opens, as has been said above. If the obstacle encountered is metallic, that is to say conductor (guard of the opposing sword, wire mesh mat, etc.), the contact in question is initially bypassed by part 14, the obstacle, itself then in contact with this part 14, and the part 10.
The relay circuit 4 therefore continues to be closed, despite the opening of the contact formed by the head 12 and the seat 12 '; lamp 6 continues to remain off. If, on the contrary, the obstacle encountered is not conductive, the opening of the mentioned contact, by the fact of the retraction of the part 10, causes the opening of the circuit of the relay 4, the breaking of the contact 17. , closing of contact 18 and, consequently, lighting of lamp 6.
This lamp 6 remains on until the moment when the button 15 is pressed again, as was done at the beginning, which at the same time causes the extinction of this lamp and the excitation of the lamp again. relay 4.
It is easily understood from what precedes, that the parts on which the tones are not valid, (guard of: weapons, carpet, etc.) must be metallic.
The box 3 .is small in size and very light, it is preferably attached to the belt. Relay 4 is a low consumption relay, possibly a delay relay when de-energizing.
In addition, the set: of the device is worn by a single fighter. The opponent can wear an identical device, independent of the first one.
