Description

  

  Zusatzpatent zum Hauptpatent Nr. 119233.    Verfahren zur Darstellung von     Isodibenzanthron.       Gegenstand dieses     Zusatzpatentes    ist ein  Verfahren zur Darstellung von     Isodibenz-          anthron.     



  Das Verfahren besteht darin, dass man       Bzl-Äthylbenzanthronylsulfid    der Formel:

    mit einem alkalischen Kondensationsmittel,  insbesondere alkoholischem Alkali, behandelt.  <I>Beispiel:</I>  In eine aus 150 Gewichtsteilen Kali  hydrat und 150 Gewichtsteilen Äthylalkohol  dargestellte Schmelze trägt man bei etwa  140   30 Gewichtsteile     Bzl-Äthylbenzanthro-          nylsulfid    ein und rührt etwa eine Stunde bei  der gleichen Temperatur. Die Schmelze wird  mit Wasser verdünnt und durch die erhal  tene Suspension so lange Luft geleitet, bis  kein Farbstoff mehr in Form der     Leukover-          bindung    vorhanden ist. Man filtriert und  wäscht mit Wasser gut aus.

   Der so erhaltene    Farbstoff ist     Isödibenzanthron    von der glei  chen Reinheit     wie    das nach dem Verfahren  des     Hauptpatentes    erhaltene     Isodibenzan-          thron.    Es stellt     ein        dunkelviolettes    Pulver  dar, das sich in konzentrierter Schwefelsäure  mit rein grüner Farbe löst und aus blauvio  letter     Hydrosulfitküpe    Baumwolle     rotstichig          violett    färbt.  



  An Stelle- von Äthylalkohol kann man  auch andere Alkohole; an Stelle von Kali  hydrat andere     Ätzalkalien    verwenden.

  The procedure consists of getting Bzl-ethylbenzanthronyl sulfide of the formula:

    treated with an alkaline condensing agent, especially alcoholic alkali. <I> Example: </I> In a melt made up of 150 parts by weight of potassium hydrate and 150 parts by weight of ethyl alcohol, 30 parts by weight of Bzl-ethylbenzanthanyl sulfide are introduced at about 140 and stirred for about an hour at the same temperature. The melt is diluted with water and air is passed through the suspension obtained until there is no longer any dye in the form of the leuco compound. It is filtered and washed well with water.

   The dye thus obtained is isodibenzanthrone of the same purity as the isodibenzanthrone obtained by the process of the main patent. It is a dark violet powder that dissolves in concentrated sulfuric acid with a pure green color and turns cotton reddish violet from the blue-violet hydrosulfite vat.



  Instead of ethyl alcohol, other alcohols can also be used; use other caustic alkalis instead of potash hydrate.

PATENTANSPRUCH: Verfahren zur Darstellung von Isodibenz- anthron, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass man Bzl-Äthylbenzanthronylsulfid mit einem al kalischen Kondensationsmittel behandelt. Das so erhaltene Produkt stellt ein dunkelviolet tes Pulver dar, das sich in konzentrierter Schwefelsäure mit rein grüner Farbe löst und aus blauvioletter Hydrosulfitküpe Baum wolle rotstichig violett färbt. PATENT CLAIM: Process for the preparation of isodibenzanthrone, characterized in that Bzl-ethylbenzanthronyl sulfide is treated with an alkaline condensation agent. The product thus obtained is a dark violet powder which dissolves in concentrated sulfuric acid with a purely green color and turns reddish violet in color from a blue-violet hydrosulfite vat.
