Au bout gauche de la verge a se trouve la, pièce métallique k. venue de fabrication avec un bec fixe droit unique 1, ayant une section transversale en<B>C</B> et présentant par mite sur toute sa longueur une ouverture ira bordée de :deux plans inclinés ra <I>o.</I> Les sec- Lions transversales des parties du coulisseau e et do la, pièce<I>k</I> voisines @de la verge<I>a</I> sont identiques l'une à l'autre;
Vernier caliper and its manufacturing process. The invention comprises a caliper. and the process for the manufacture thereof.
A number of known calipers include one or more nozzles from manufacture: with a part having a cross section at <B> 0, </B> threaded on the rod and attached to it.
They present inconvenient drivers. That of the parts: of: the part in <B> 0 </B> which is on the side: of the face of the. vengeance bearing the graduation casts, according to the lighting, an unfortunate shadow over the beginning of the graduations of the penis and of the neck moving on it. It forms on this same face a projection preventing easy cleaning of this entire face.
From a manufacturing point of view, finally, the work of the mortise thus provided in this part is inconvenient, because it is necessary to carry out it, not with a milling cutter, znais with a tool called "mandrel" not giving good and regular quality work; : in addition, there is a whole job of adjusting the slide and said part once they have been prepared separately.
These drawbacks are avoided according to the invention thanks to the fact that the integral part of the nozzle: a. over its entire length a cross section in C so as to be open -on one: of its faces. According to the process for the manufacture of the foot, we take a piece of metal - having a length: at least equal to the sum of the lengths of the slide moving on the rod and, from the solid part of the beak, we practice on all:
the length of, mo.rce, to a mortise intended to receive the rod and this piece is finally divided into two parts intended to constitute one the slide, the other the integral part of the beak.
This mortise can be made in the piece using a cutter whose shaft passes through the lateral opening of the sections of the slide and .do said piece.
It is therefore no longer necessary! To perform the mortise with the mandrel, nor to proceed to -an reciprocal adjustment of the slide and the integral part! Of the spout, since that, s of their parts which are adjacent to the shank were worked simultaneously: in a single piece of metal: and. that one limits oneself to .they separate from one another after this work, The accompanying drawing represents, by way of example, a shape. execution of the caliper.
The fi-. 1 and 2 cry are a front view and an end view: Figs. 3 to 7 relate to the fa.bri- ation of the above embodiment. The latter. has a cc lic metal rod having a rectangular cross section and having the b graduation on one of its large faces.
On the. verge ct can move the slider having a transverse section in <B> C </B> and consequently presenting over all its. length of an opening d bordered by two inclined planes <I> c </I> f, one of which bears the: graduation g; he is.
provided with a single right spout la and a clamping screw i:. the left face, j of the spout. the protrusion of a certain amount on the left end of the slider c.
At the left end of the rod a is the metal part k. manufactured with a single straight fixed spout 1, having a cross section in <B> C </B> and presenting by moth over its entire length an opening will be bordered by: two inclined planes ra <I> o. </ I > The transverse sections of the parts of the slide e and of the, part <I> k </I> neighboring @of the rod <I> a </I> are identical to each other;
the right face q of the nozzle 1 protrudes a certain amount from the right end of the: part Iii. Tapered holes t- <I> s t </I> u. are practiced in the, rod <I> a </I> and the, piece k so that each of them encroaches on both at the same time; they are filled with a certain quantity of the same metal as that constituting <I> a. </I> and k which are thus attached to each other.
Because the, part k. .is open in nt #on the face die la. rod carrying the. graduation b it does not cast an unfortunate shadow at the beginning of the graduations <B> b <I> g; </I> </B> nor does it prevent easy cleaning of this face. in full.
One can operate, for example as follows to manufacture .cette embodiment: We take a piece of metal 1 (fig. 3 ct 4) including. length is at least equal to the sum of the lengths of the slider c -et la. piece k and who has. either a rectangular shape as indicated in, FIG. 3, or the form shown in phantom in fi g. 9) # and 4 and obtained by stamping.
We practice in it, over its entire length, a U-profile groove I using a milling cutter, then a mortise? said T-shaped entry by means of a milling cutter. T 3, the shaft of which passes through the side opening of groove 1.
We establish the inclined planes <I> e </I> / '<B> ii </B> o of a. only once along the entire length of the song. Once this is done, we separate the slide c from the.
part it by a cutting line. 5 and we make clearances 6, 7 = in both rooms. It only remains alars to put in place the part k,
there, to make the conical holes <I> r s t </I> u with a milling cutter in it and in the urge and to fill them by electric fusion with a certain quantity of metal so that k is firmly attached to ct. When the slide is threaded on the rod a by the. Further, there will be no reciprocal adjustment between it and nozzle 1,
since both came from the same piece by having operations. at the same time.
It goes without saying that the immobilization of the, part k on the, rod <I> a </I> can take place in any other way, for example by soldering with tin, by tenon and mortise, - quote-.
The piece k, .and the slide c can each present several nozzles, straight or curved, come from manufacture .with them or repor ted on them.
