Device for the tipping of the body of motor trucks. The present invention relates to a device for the baseulement of the body of mobile trucks.
In this device, a cable winding on a drum passes over a pulley disposed at the end of an arm, and is connected to the lower part of the arm. 'a crutch articulated on the body and carrying at its' free end a bearing left, so that under the force of the cable, the crutch , which -in the rest position is folded & between the lon gerons -of the chassis of the body, straightens up and tilts the body.
The accompanying drawing, given to by way of example, shows one of the embodiments of this invention.
Fig. 1 is a partial sectional elevation view of all of the drum control members; Fig. 2 is a rear view of the tilting device; Fig. 3 represents the front part # of the body frame in the 'tilted position; Fig. 4 is a side view; Fig. 5 is a detailed view of the articulation of the crutch.
1 designates a control shaft combined with a special shaft connected to, the gearbox of the automobile truck. On the shaft 1 are mounted two bevel gears 2 and 3 provided with claws 2a and 3a which can be engaged with corresponding claws ## dantes 4a and P of a coupling sleeve 4. This claw sleeve is controlled by a to whipper mounted on a control lever 6.
7 -designates a double-conical crown, mounted on the shaft 8 of an endless screw 9 in mesh with a helicopter wheel. ï.dale 10 mounted on the a # bre Il of a drum 12 (fig. 2).
The bevel gear 3 meshes with the outer crown of the double gear 7 and turns Parbre, 8 in a certain direction, while pinion 2 meshes with central crown 7a of gear 7 and turns shaft 8 in the opposite direction.
The whole of this mechanism is enclosed,, for one paxt, in a casing 13 and, on the other hand, in a -carter 14, -to the upper part of which a casing 15 surrounding the helical wheel 10. These casings are sealed so that the oil intended for lubricating the various components cannot escape.
The drum 12 is mounted on bearings 16 which are supported by a cross member 17, of length equal to to the width of the chassis of the truck and which rests on the side members of this chassis. The bearings 16 are terminated at their upper part by yokes 16a in which is articulated a yoke 18a of an arm 18 which is oscillating - in the longitudinal direction and the transverse direction.
This arm further comprises at its upper part another yoke 18b receiving the axis of a return pulley 19.
So that the drum 12 is always in the axis -of the chassis of the automobile truck, whatever the width of -this, -frame, we have given to the shaft Il </ B> a -square section so that it can slide in the drum 12, while dragging this last one.
A cable 20, of flat shape, or other, one end of which winds on the drum 12 and which passes over the return pulley 19, is fixed at its other end to the lower part of a crutch 21 articulated on a frame 22 supporting the body of the truck. The stand 21 carries to, its inside part a roller 24 capable of moving on a rolling track placed on the chassis of the automobile truck.
When the body and its chassis rest on the chassis of the truck, the stand 21 makes an angle of approximately 15 degrees with the long legs of the chassis 22 -of the body.
The operation of this device is as follows: The drum control mechanism being engaged with, a special shaft of the gearbox of the truck, the cable 20 is rolled on the drum 12 and exerts on the b- keel 21 a tensile force which has the effect of causing the roller 24 to roll on its track.
The frame 22 of the body, pushed by the crutch which straightens up as a result of the displacement of. its pebble. 24, then begins a soli movement of rocking until the angle formed by the kickstand and the body is approximately 85 degrees. A </ B > this moment, the roller 24 has left the rolling track and the b- keel 21 is blocked at its upper part by a stop 23 </ B > fixed on the # cli frame 22 of the body. A this effect, each of the two divergent branches 21, 2la (fig. 3) of the crutch, carries a part articulation 21b (fig. 5)
pivoting around the axis 25 and fitted with a nose 2le which comes to rest against the stop 23 (fig. 4).
The tilting operation is then completed.
To put the body back in 19, horizontal position, one performs the maneuver in the opposite direction.
This is thus obtained a device whose size is reduced due to the fact that the, baby- keel at rest, is folded between the side members of the frame of the body , and that the height of the 18 arm can be minimal without the tilting angle being reduced for this.
