Description

  

  Verfahren zur Darstellung eines     Küpenfarbstoffes.       Es ist gefunden worden, dass man durch  Kondensation von     Perylen-3.4.9.        10-tetra-          carbonsäure    mit     p-Toluidin    einen wertvollen       Kiipenfarbstoff    erhält.  



  <I>Beispiel:</I>  392 Gewichtsteile     Perylentetracarbon-          sä        ureanhydrid    werden mit etwa 3000 Ge  wichtsteilen     p-Toluidin    unter Rühren auf  etwa 185   bis zum Verschwinden des     Pe-          rylentetracarbonsäureanhydrids    erhitzt. Das  Kondensationsprodukt scheidet sich dabei kri  stallin ab.  



  Nach beendeter Kondensation lässt man  etwas abkühlen und drückt dann in ver  dünnte Salzsäure. Man saugt ab, wäscht mit  Wasser aus und zieht schliesslich den Farb  stoff zur Entfernung geringer     alkalilöslicher     Verunreinigungen mit verdünnter, heisser       Alkalilauge    aus.  



  Der Farbstoff wird in roten     Kristallen     in fast quantitativer Ausbeute erhalten.    Die Lösung in konzentrierter Schwefelsäure  erscheint in dickeren Schichten violett, 11  dünneren blau gefärbt.     1VIit    alkalischer       Hydrosulfitlösung    erhält man eine rotviolette       Küpe,    aus der Baumwolle in echten, roten  Tönen     angefärbt        wird.'

  <I> Example: </I> 392 parts by weight of perylenetetracarboxylic acid anhydride are heated with about 3000 parts by weight of p-toluidine with stirring to about 185 until the perylenetetracarboxylic acid anhydride has disappeared. The condensation product separates out crystalline.



  When the condensation is complete, the mixture is allowed to cool a little and then pressed into dilute hydrochloric acid. It is filtered off with suction, washed with water and finally the dye is extracted with dilute, hot alkali to remove minor alkali-soluble impurities.



  The dye is obtained in red crystals in almost quantitative yield. The solution in concentrated sulfuric acid appears violet in thick layers and blue in thinner layers. With alkaline hydrosulphite solution, a red-violet vat is obtained from which cotton is dyed in real, red tones.

PATENTANSPRUCH: Verfahren zur Darstellung eines Küpen- farbstoffes, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass man Perylentetracarbonsäure mit p-Toluidin kondensiert, wobei man einen Farbstoff in roten Kristallen erhält, dessen Lösung in konzentrierter Schwefelsäure in dickeren Schichten violett, in dünneren blau gefärbt ist, und der Baumwolle aus der rotvioletten Hydrosulfitküpe echt rot färbt.
