Abstract

L'invention concerne un procédé, qui comprend la délivrance d'une quantité de métal, la quantité de métal étant contaminée par un contaminant comprenant une certaine quantité de carbone ; la configuration d'un four à induction sous vide de façon à fonctionner selon un ensemble de paramètres de fonctionnement, l'ensemble de paramètres de fonctionnement étant sélectionné sur la base de caractéristiques du contaminant, l'ensemble de paramètres de fonctionnement comprenant au moins l'un parmi une pression, une composition d'atmosphère, une température de versage ou un temps de maintien ; le chargement du four à induction sous vide avec la quantité de métal ; et le fonctionnement du four à induction sous vide de façon à faire fondre la quantité de métal en fonction de l'ensemble de paramètres de fonctionnement, au moins une partie du contaminant étant retirée à partir de la quantité de métal de façon à produire un métal de sortie ayant une concentration en carbone qui est inférieure ou égale à une concentration de carbone dans le métal quand il est coulé.
