Abstract

L'invention concerne un système aquaponique ayant des flux minimes de sortie de déchets. Un courant d'eaux usées provenant d'animaux aquatiques est minéralisé dans une unité de conversion de déchets ayant des algues et des bactéries situées sur de multiples plaques horizontales, à travers lesquelles s'écoule le courant d'eaux usées. Le courant de déchets quittant l'unité de conversion de déchets passe à travers des cuvettes sur lesquelles des plantes poussent en culture hydroponique par absorption des déchets minéralisés. L'eau quittant les cuvettes retourne au réservoir contenant les animaux aquatiques, et le cycle se répète. Le système peut être complété par une source d'air, une source de lumière et une source de nutriments dans l'unité de conversion de déchets pour améliorer davantage la décomposition des déchets d'animaux. De plus, des plateaux flottants peuvent être utilisés dans les cuvettes pour supporter une large plage de plantes poussant en culture hydroponique dans les cuvettes.
