La présente invention concerne des hôtes qui contiennent des constructions présentant des gènes issus de la voie de synthèse de l'amidon. Plus spécifiquement, l'invention concerne des hôtes bactériennes qui forment des amidons végétaux. Elle concerne en outre des hôtes végétaux contenant des gènes issus de la voie de synthèse de l'amidon. Elle concerne enfin les amidons produits par lesdits hôtes.
