Abstract
L'invention concerne un photomètre (10) pour mesurer l'absorption d'une radiation électromagnétique par un échantillon. La radiation électromagnétique est conduite depuis une source (14) vers un ou des détecteurs (36) d'échantillons après avoir traversé un échantillon contenu dans une cellule (37) ou après avoir été dispersée par cet échantillon. La radiation électromagnétique est ensuite dirigée sur un système de détection (54) qui détermine l'absorbance de la radiation électromagnétique par l'échantillon. Le système de détection (54) comprend un diviseur de faisceau (58) qui reçoit la radiation électromagnétique et fournit des premier et second faisceaux (64, 66). Un premier détecteur (72) ayant un filtre (72) pour une première longueur d'onde (76) et un second détecteur (78) ayant un filtre (82) pour une seconde longueur d'onde reçoivent les deux faisceaux du diviseur. Un détecteur peut être utilisé pour produire un signal de référence. Le ou les détecteurs restants produisent un signal de sortie qui est une représentation d'une caractéristique de l'échantillon, telle que son absorbance. Les signaux de sortie sont comparés à un signal de référence et convertis en une mesure de l'absorbance, de transmission, de réflexion ou de turbidité.
