Abstract

L'invention a pour objet une protéine sous forme substantiellement purifiée, qui est la sous-unité de moindre poids moléculaire (Tbp2) du récepteur de la transferrine humaine (RTH) d'une souche de N. meningitidis; la souche étant caractérisée en ce qu'elle n'est pas reconnue en dot blot par un antisérum obtenu à l'encontre d'un polypeptide correspondant à la Tbp2 de la souche N. meningitidis M982 (Tbp2 M982) délétée des portions hypervariables du deuxième domaine; et la sous-unité Tbp2 étant caractérisée (i) en ce qu'elle est codée par un fragment d'ADN d'environ 2,1 kb et (ii) en ce qu'elle possède une région charnière de type M982. Cette sous-unité Tbp2 ainsi que les fragments polypeptidiques qui en sont dérivés sont notamment utiles à des fins vaccinales, plus particulièrement en association avec des sous-unités Tbp2 de N. meningitidis déjà connues. L'invention fournit également des fragments d'ADN codant pour ces nouvelles Tbp2 et polypeptides dérivés.
