lnibidor e método para evitar escamação à base de sílica. o presente invento descreve um agente de tratamento de água que compreende um polímero não iônico específico e um composto de fósforo e pode exibir a capacidade de inibir a deposição de escamas baseadas em sílica sob uma ampla gama de condições de qualidade de água e condições de temperatura; e um método para tratar a água. o inibidor de escamas baseadas em sílica compreende um polímero não iônico e um composto de fósforo, o polímero não iônico sendo um polímero formado pela reação de uma ligação dupla insaturada e compreendendo unidades derivadas de pelo menos um monômero escolhido dentre o grupo que consiste de (met)acrilamida, (met)acrilamida n-substituída e n-vinil-lactama; e um ou mais polímeros tendo um grupo éter e escolhidos dentre o grupo que consiste de adutos de álcool alquílico i óxido de polialquileno, adutos de ácido monocarboxílico alifático i óxido de polialquileno, e adutos de álcool polivinílico i óxido de polialquileno.
