Processo para trabalhar metais com levantamento de aparas, sob uso de um lubrificante de refrigeração misturado com água e subseq³ente limpeza e/ou tratamento de proteção contra corrosão, caracterizado pelo fato de que como lubrificante de refrigeração é usada uma emulsão de óleo-em-água, que contém i) um sistema de emulsificação, que consiste em a) etoxilatos/propoxilatos de álcoois graxos, com 8 a 18 átomos de C no álcool, com 2 a 6 unidades de óxido de etileno e 4 a 8 unidades de óxido de propileno e b) álcoois graxos e/ou propoxilatos de álcool graxo, com 12 a 24 átomos de C no álcool e 0 e 3 unidade de óxido de propileno e/ou resíduo de destilação desses álcoois graxos, na relação de peso de a : b = 1 : 0,2 a 0,2 :1, e.ii) inibidores de corrosão e que para limpeza e/ou tratamento de proteção contra corrosão é usada uma solução aquosa e/ou suspensão, que contém o mesmo sistema de emulsificação e os mesmos inibidores de corrosão como o lubrificante de refrigeração. A combinação de agentes indicada é igualmente objeto do pedido de patente.
