Abstract
<B> MODULADOR QAM DIGITAL UTILIZANDO RECOMBINAçãO DE PORTADORA PóS-FILTRAçãO <D> O modulador de amplitude de quadratura eficiente da presente invenção permite que de 6 a 8 canais comprimidos independentes ocupem uma largura de faixa de 6 MHz enquanto reduzindo poder de processamento em 33 por centro para 8 níveis de modulação oferecida por 64-QAM e em 25 por centro para 16 níveis de modulação oferecida por 256-QAM. O modulador obtém esta eficiência utilizando uma arquitetura de filtro digital, aperfeiçoada, combinando a modulação e filtração com combinação de portadora pós-filtração. O modulador QAM apresentado é implementado com uma redução no número total de multiplicadores paralelos binários. Para aumentar o rendimento operacional, a velocidade de operação aumenta com o uso de LUTs (tabelas de consulta) armazenando coeficientes de ponderação de filtro pré-computados. A redução em multiplicadores também é obtida pelo uso de combinação de portadora pós-filtração que reduz similarmente o número de operações MAC realizadas durante filtração. A invenção pode ser construída como um FPGA (conjunto de porta programável em campo) ou um ASIC (circuito integrado específico de aplicação).
