Antes do refletor acha-se disposta uma lente e um diafragma que corre entre a lente e o refletor. O diafragma é uma peça arqueada flexível, cuja aresta de diafragma arqueada serve para gerar um limite claro-escuro de uma figura luminosa e a qual está ligada, por suas extremidades livres, com a armação através de elementos de retenção que engatam em aberturas de retenção, e a qual retém os elementos de retenção nas aberturas de retenção.
