Abstract

<B>FIBRA óTICA TENDO UMA INCLINAçãO DE DISPERSãO BAIXA NA REGIãO DE AMPLIFICADOR DE éRBIO<D>. é revelada uma fibra ótica (10) que é adequada para uso em sistemas (700) multiplex de divisão de onda (WDM) servidos por amplificadores (710) de fibra dopada com érbio. A fibra tem uma dispersão cromática cuja magnitude absoluta é de pelo menos 0,8 ps/ (nm-km) através da região de comprimento de onda de 1530 - 1565 nm, e tem uma inclinação de dispersão que é menor do que 0,05 ps/(nm^ 2^-km). Essa fibra ótica exibe uma perda que é menor do que aproximadamente 0,20 dB/km e é relativamente insensível à flexão; além disso, sua área efetiva excede 50 <109>m^ 2^.
