Uma composição líquida aquosa para a limpeza e desengorduramento de superfícies metálicas consiste essencialmente de água e dos seguintes componentes dissolvidos, estavelmente dispersos, ou tanto dissolvidos quanto estavelmente dispersos: (A) sais de borato de metal alcalino; (B) ácido bórico em excesso de qualquer gerado pela reação dos ânions do componente (A) com água; (C) tensoativo não iónico; e (D) tensoativo aniónico e/ou anfotérico.
