Abstract
POLÍMEROS POLICILOLEFÍNICOS E MEMBRANAS DE PERMUTA ANIÔNICA DERIVADOS DESSES. As modalidades de acordo com a presente invenção abrangem uma variedade de polímeros derivados de monômeros de olefina policíclicos, tais como norbornenos funcionalizados com hidrocarbonetos. Os polímeros assim formados funcionam como ionômeros e são adequados como membranas de permuta aniônica para fabricar uma variedade de dispositivos eletroquímicos, entre outros. Mais especificamente, os polímeros ionoméricos usados neste documento são derivados de uma variedade de monômeros de norborneno funcionalizados com amino quaternizado e são levemente reticulados (menos de dez mol%). As membranas feitas a partir deles exibem condutividade iônica muito alta de até 198 mS/cm a 80 ºC. A presente invenção também refere-se ao uso de um eletrólito de polímero sólido condutor de ânions como o meio condutor de íons entre os dois eletrodos e o meio condutor de íons dentro dos eletrodos atuando como o conduto iônico entre o material eletroativo e o eletrólito. Os dispositivos eletroquímicos feitos de acordo com a presente invenção são úteis como células de combustível, separadores de gás e similares.
