Abstract

PRODUÇÃO DE ETANOL COM UM OU MAIS COPRODUTOS EM LEVEDURA. A presente invenção refere-se a processos para a produção de etanol e um ou mais coprodutos de uma fonte de carbono fermentável. O etanol e um ou mais coprodutos são produzidos em uma levedura produtora de etanol modificada para produzir ainda um ou mais coprodutos. Os processos envolvem o contato de uma fonte de carbono fermentável com a levedura modificada em um meio de fermentação, fermentando a levedura no meio de fermentação de modo que a levedura produza etanol e um ou mais coprodutos da fonte de carbono fermentável e isolando o etanol e o um ou mais coprodutos. A levedura modificada é uma levedura produtora de etanol que produz etanol em maior concentração do que um ou mais coprodutos. Adicionalmente, a invenção fornece a levedura modificada aqui descrita.
