Abstract
a presente descrição se refere à hidroxiapatita obtida a partir de madeira porosa com uma resistência compressiva alta e dimensões apropriadas para aplicações clínicas. a madeira porosa apresenta uma porosidade entre 60% e 95%, sendo a referida porosidade medida depois de submeter a madeira a uma etapa de pirólise, e sendo selecionada de rattan, pinus, abacá balsa, sipo, carvalho, palisandro, bambus e madeira de nogueira. a hidroxiapatita pode ser substituída por um ou mais íons tais como, magnésio, estrôncio, silício, titânio, carbonato, potássio, sódio, prata, gálio, cobre, ferro, zinco, manganês, európio, gadolínio. também é revelado um substituto para o osso compreendendo hidroxiapatita obtida de madeira porosa. o substituto do osso é empregado para substituição e regeneração de um osso ou de uma porção óssea, preferivelmente para ossos submetidos às cargas mecânicas, tais como, ossos longos da perna e do braço, preferivelmente da tíbia, fíbula, fêmur, úmero e rádio. a invenção se refere também a um processo para fabricação de um arcabouço biomórfico de hidroxiapatita a partir de madeira.
