Abstract
abstract transdermal dosage form for low-melting point active agent a drug-containing patch allows transdermal administration of a drug. the patch features a hydrophobic reservoir containing the drug, where the reservoir has a first surface and a second surface. a drug-impermeable backing overlies the first surface of the reservoir. a release sheet may overlie the second surface of the reservoir. the hydrophobic reservoir contains a drug and a hydrophobic matrix, where the hydrophobic matrix includes a hydrophobic filler in an amount which is effective to adsorb said drug; and a mixture of polyisobutylene and mineral oil. the hydrophobic matrix may contain hydrophobic colloidal silica as the hydrophobic filler. the hydrophobic reservoir layer may serve as a skin-contacting adhesive layer. alternatively, a release-controlling adhesive layer may serve as the skin-contacting adhesive layer. the release-controlling adhesive layer may contain hydrophobic colloidal silica and a mixture of polyisobutylene and mineral oil. __________________________________________________________ resumo patente de invenção: "forma de dosagem transdérmica para agente ativo de baixo ponto de fusão". a invenção se refere a um emplastro contendo fármaco que permite a administração transdérmica de um fármaco. o emplastro caracteriza-se por um reservatório hidrofóbico que contém o fármaco, em que o reservatório tem uma primeira superfície e uma segunda superfície. uma camada de suporte impermeável a fármaco se sobrepõe à primeira superfície do reservatório. uma folha de liberação pode se sobrepor à segunda superfície do reservatório. o reservatório hidrofóbico contém um fármaco e uma matriz hidrofóbica, em que a matriz hidrofóbica inclui uma carga hidrofóbica em uma quantidade que é eficaz para adsorver o dito fármaco; e uma mistura de poliisobutileno e óleo mineral. a matriz hidrofóbica pode conter sílica coloidal hidrofóbica como a carga hidrofóbica. a camada de reservatório hidrofóbico pode servir como uma camada adesiva de contato com a pele. alternativamente, uma camada adesiva de controle de liberação pode servir como a camada adesiva de contato com a pele. a camada adesiva de controle de liberação pode conter sílica coloidal hidrofóbica e uma mistura de poliisobutileno e óleo mineral.
