Abstract
abstract of the disclosure an assay device includes: a liquid sample receiving zone; a capture zone in fluid communication with the sample receiving zone having capture elements bound thereto, the capture zone having a substrate and projections which extend substantially vertically from the substrate, the projections having a rhombus-shaped cross-section and the projections arranged on the substrate with the corners of the projections facing upstream in a direction toward the sample receiving zone. the projections have a height, cross-section and a distance between one another that defines a capillary space between the projections capable of generating capillary flow parallel to the substrate surface; and a sink in fluid communication with the capture zone having a capacity to receive liquid sample flowing from the capture zone. the sample receiving zone, the capture zone and the sink define a fluid flow path. in a preferred embodiment the rhombus-shaped cross-section is a square. in another preferred embodiment the rhombus-shaped cross-section is a diamond. in yet another preferred embodiment, the corners of the projections facing the upstream and downstream direction have a smaller interior angle compared to the other interior angles of the projections. traduação resumo patente de invenção: "dispositivo de ensaio que tem projeções em formato de losango". a presente invenção refere-se a um dispositivo de ensaio que inclui: uma zona de recepção de amostra líquida; uma zona de captura em comunicação fluida com a zona de recepção de amostra tendo elementos de captura ligados a isso, zona de captura tendo um substrato e projeções que se estendem substancialmente verticalmente do substrato, as projeções ten-do uma seção transversal em formato de losango e as projeções dispostas no substrato com os cantos das projeções voltados a montante em direção à zona de recepção de amostra. as projeções têm uma altura, uma seção transversal e uma distância entre elas que definem um espaço capilar entre as projeções capaz de gerar fluxo capilar paralelo à superfície do substrato. a seção transversal em formato de losango é um quadrado, os cantos das projeções voltados às direções a jusante e a montante têm um ângulo interior menor em comparação com outros ângulos interiores das projeções.
