Abstract
"MéTODO PARA PRODUçãO ELETROLìTICA DE ALUMìNIO METáLICO, E, CéLULA DE ELETROPRODUçãO". A presente invenção refere-se a métodos para operar e controlar a temperatura de eletrodos inertes, durante a produção de alumínio fundido por eletrólise de um minério aluminoso, preferivelmente alumina, dissolvido em sais fundidos, preferivelmente um eletrólito baseado em fluoreto, em uma célula eletrolítica com configuração de eletrodo vertical ou essencialmente vertical. A invenção descreve métodos de projetar e operar eletrodos inertes em uma posição vertical e/ou inclinada, para produção de alumínio metálico, em que ditos eletrodos têm uma temperatura operacional que pode desviar-se da temperatura do eletrólito, desse modo controlando a dissolução de materiais de eletrodo e prevenindo a formação de depósitos sólidos nos eletrodos. A presente invenção é também aplicável às células de produção de alumínio, utilizando eletrodos inertes em uma configuração horizontal, e a células Hall-Heroult tradicionais, retroajustadas com os ânodos inertes.
