Abstract

Patente de Invenção: ESTRATéGIA DE CONTROLE PARA REGENERAR UM CATALISADOR ADSORVEDOR DE NOx EM UM SISTEMA DE DESCARGA DE UM MOTOR QUE TEM UM MECANISMO VARIáVEL DE ATUAçãO DE VáLVULA. A presente invenção refere-se a um controle (30) para controlar um mecanismo variável de atuação de válvula (26) de um motor de combustão interna (10) para regenerar um catalisador adsorvedor de NOx (35) do sistema de descarga (22) do motor. O controle compreendendo um programa operacional (50) para regenerar o catalisador enquanto o motor está operando sob sua própria energia fazendo com que o mecanismo variável de atuação de válvula troque a sincronização de operação das válvulas de admissão (18) de modo a mudar a relação combustível-ar de mistura que está sendo queimada nos cilindros (16) desde uma mistura relativamente mais pobre até uma mistura que é suficientemente mais rica do que estequiométrica para regenerar o catalisador de maneira efetiva.
