Abstract
"MUTANTES TERMOESTáVEIS DE ENZIMAS DA BIOSSìNTESE DE AMIDO". A presente invenção refere-se a novas moléculas de polinucleotídeos mutantes que codificam enzimas que têm aumentada estabilidade térmica. Estes polinucleotídeos, quando expressos em plantas, resultam em aumento do rendimento em plantas cultivadas sob condições de estresse térmico. As moléculas de polinucleotídeos da presente invenção codificam glicose pirofosforilase (AGP) de ADP de endosperma de milho e atividades de enzima sintase de amido solúvel (SSS). Plantas e tecido vegetal desenvolvidos para conter, ou transformados com, os polinucleotídeos mutantes, e expressando os polipeptídeos codificados pelos polinucleotídeos, também são contempladas pela presente invenção. A presente invenção também refere-se a métodos para isolar polinucleotídeos e polipeptídeos contemplados dentro do âmbito da invenção. Também são proporcionados métodos para aumentar o rendimento em plantes cultivadas sob condições de estresse térmico.
