Abstract

"MéTODO PARA FABRICAçãO DE PRODUTOS COMPóSITOS DIMENSIONALMENTE ESTáVEIS A PARTIR DE MATERIAL LIGNOCELULóSICO". Processo para fabricação de produtos compósitos reconstituídos dimensionalmente estáveis de material lignocelulósico. Pelo tratamento de lignocelulose com vapor em pressão elevada para decompor e hidrolisar as frações de lignina, hemicelulose e celulose da lignocelulose e utilizando aqueles produtos de decomposição tanto como agente de ligação como agente de volume, converte sob calor e pressão em uma operação de moldagem, a lignocelulose tratada em produtos compósitos moldados como chapas de painel e artigos moldados. Os produtos compósitos desse modo produzidos possuem boas propriedades físicas e mecânicas. Especificamente, a estabilidade dimensional em termos do intumescimento de espessura e expansão linear de chapas de painel como chapas de fibras e chapa de partículas podem ser minimizadas a níveis muito baixos quando as chapas de painel são feitas em alta densidade. A ligação adesiva desenvolvida do termoendurecimento dos produtos de decomposição de hemicelulose, celulose e lignina é forte e estável e resistente à água em ebulição e hidrólise de ácido e é isenta de emissões de formaldeído. Desse modo, as chapas de painel reconstituídas e produtos moldados são apropriados para aplicações no exterior e particularmente no interior. A ausência de emissões de formaldeído livre torna o produto muito apropriado para aplicações no interior. O custo de fabricação para os produtos reconstituídos é significativamente inferior em comparação com o processo convencional porque não se utiliza resina sintética cara.
