Abstract
"MéTODO PARA PRODUZIR UM COMPOSTO BIOATIVO APRESENTANDO UMA BIOATIVIDADE CONHECIDA, E, CéLULAS RECOMBINANTES". Um composto bioativo, ou família de compostos, é biossintetizado por uma célula utilizando uma pluralidade de atividades enzimáticas. A Requerente proporcionou células hospedeiras que substancialmente não apresentam a bioatividade, mas que apresentam pelo menos uma primeira das atividades enzimáticas (ou ácido nucleico que codifica uma enzima correspondente). As células são transformadas com ácido nucleico expressável para proporcionar pelo menos uma segunda atividade enzimática que permite que as células produzam um composto bioativo. Uma família de células pode ser transformada com uma multiplicidade de ácidos nucleicos diferentes, levando a uma coleção de células incluindo células que produzem produto bioativo diferente, e células que não produzem produtos bioativos. Células transformadas podem ser triadas quanto à bioatividade. Células ativas podem ser isoladas e cultivadas, e compostos bioativos podem ser isolados.
