Abstract

"CONVERSOR DE DESLOCAMENTO, E, MéTODO DE REDUZIR A QUANTIDADE DE MONóXIDO DE CARBONO EM UM GáS COMBUSTìVEL DE PROCESSAMENTO PARA UMA CéLULA DE COMBUSTìVEL". Um conversor de deslocamento (16) de um subsistema, para processar combustível (14, 16, 18) para um célula de combustível, (12) utiliza uma composição catalisadora aperfeiçoada (50), para reduzir a quantidade de monóxido de carbono de um gás de processamento para a célula de combustivel (12). A composição catalisadora (50) é um catalisador de metal nobre, tendo um suporte promovido de óxido de metal misturado, incluindo pelo menos tanto céria como zircónia. O cério está presente na faixa de 30 a 50% em mol e o zircónio está presente na faixa de 70 a 50 % em mol. óxidos metálicos adicionais podem também estar presentes. O uso da composição catalisadora (50) obvia a necessidade de redução anterior dos catalisadores e minimiza a necessidade de proteger o catalisador do oxigênio durante a operação e/ou paralisação.
