"PROCESSO PARA PREPARAR UM COMPOSTO, E, COMPOSTO". é descrita uma síntese assimétrica de diarilmetilpiperazinas. A via sintética permite a preparação de uma variedade de aminas enanciomericamente puras com diferentes grupos N-alquila. A invenção inclui uma adição assimétrica de compostos organometálicos à sulfinimina quiral para fornecer adutos em predominantemente um diastereómero, que pode ser subseq³entemente transferido aos enanciómeros puros através de clivagem do auxiliar quiral, que é seguida pela síntese do anel piperazina através de procedimentos de alquilação.
