Abstract

"PREVENçãO OU REMOçãO DE ESCAMAS". A presente invenção refere-se a um método para reduzir a escamação em um circuito líquido de tratamento alcalino em um processo de tratamento de minério de metal, no qual o minério de metal é digerido em um veículo alcalino em um estágio de digestão para formar uma suspensão dos sólidos de resíduo de minério em um líquido aquoso contendo valores de metal, separando os sólidos do líquido em um estágio de separação e em seguida transferindo o líquido aquoso contendo valores de metal para um circuito de recuperação de valores de metal a partir do qual os valores de metal são precipitados e separados do líquido alcalino, onde a escamação das superfícies é reduzida introduzindo-se no líquido alcalino uma quantidade eficaz de supressor de escama polimérica, caracterizado pelo fato de que o supressor polimérico compreende um sal de metal de álcali ou amónio de um polímero tendo um peso molecular médio abaixo de 50.000 e o qual é um copolímero compreendendo de 30 a 99% em peso de porções de ácido carboxílico etilenicamente não-saturado e de 1 a 70% em peso de porções de (met) acrilato de isobutila.
