Aro (30, 50) de roda para veículo automóvel, feito de chapa de aço, que compreende axialmente do lado interior ao lado exterior um gancho interior (4), um assento interior (5), uma zona de ligação (7), uma canelura de montagem (9), um relevo de segurança (11), um assento exterior (5) e um gancho exterior (13), o dito aro sendo destinado a ser unido a um disco (2) de roda sob a canelura de montagem (9), caracterizado pelo fato de que, o dito aro tendo uma espessura dada E ao nivel da canelura de montagem (9), a zona de ligação (7) compreende uma zona (Z5, Z'4) de espessura E1 tal que: E/3 + 0,5 mm <243> E1 <243> E/3 mm; e E1 <243> 0,7 mm.
