Abstract
"SISTEMAS E MéTODOS PARA FORNECER SERVIçOS DE VìDEO SOB DEMANDA PARA SISTEMAS DE TRANSMISSãO. Um método para enviar dados a um cliente para fornecer serviços de dados sob demanda, por exemplo um Sistema de Televisão a Cabo (120), que consiste nas etapas de: recebimento de um arquivo de dados, especificação de um intervalo de tempo, divisão do arquivo de dados em vários blocos de dados com base no intervalo de tempo de modo que cada bloco de dados seja exibido durante um intervalo de tempo, determinação de um número requerido de slots de tempo para enviar o arquivo de dados, alocação para cada slot de tempo pelo menos no primeiro dos vários blocos de dados e opcionalmente um ou mais blocos de dados adicionais, de modo que seja iniciado a partir de qualquer slot de tempo; (i) o arquivo de dados pode ser exibido acessando-se o primeiro dos vários blocos de dados; (ii) em um slot de tempo consecutivo, um próximo bloco de dados seq³encial para um bloco de dados exibido anteriormente está disponível para exibição; e (iii) repetição da etapa (ii) até que todos os vários blocos de dados para o arquivo de dados tenham sido exibidos, e envio dos vários blocos de dados com base na etapa de alocação.
