Abstract

Patente de Invenção: "MéTODO E APARELHO PARA VERIFICAçãO DE PESO DE OCUPANTE DE ASSENTO". A presente invenção trata de um sistema de verificação de peso de ocupante de assento que é usado para controlar o desdobramento do saco de ar. O sistema é incorporado em um assento de veículo suportado nos conjuntos de trilho interno (26a) e externo (26b). Os conjuntos de trilhos interno e externo são montados na estrutura do veículo de modo que a porção de trilho central permanece não suportada. Um primeiro conjunto sensor (38, 40) é montado no conjunto de trilho interno (26a) e um segundo conjunto sensor (58, 60) é montado ao conjunto de trilho externo (26b). O primeiro conjunto sensor gera um primeiro sinal em resposta ao deslocamento medido do conjunto de trilho interno em virtude do peso do ocupante do assento. O segundo conjunto sensor gera um segundo sinal em resposta ao deslocamento medido do conjunto de trilho externo em virtude do peso do ocupante do assento. Um processador central (66) determina o peso do ocupante do assento com base nos primeiro e segundo sinais. O processador central (66) se comunica com o sistema de ar de segurança (70) para controlar o desdobramento do airbag com base no peso do ocupante do assento.
